As the guests began to clap, Enzo wrapped his arm around me protectively.
Lucia waved her hands, calming them down. “However, we’re also here to celebrate something else. Who would like to find out the gender of our beautiful baby?”
Every guest had been handed a bag containing streamers, confetti, and horns, all blue in color.
“Absolutely!” several people yelled.
As I watched D’Artagnan’s expression change, the love he had in his eyes could light up an entire sky.
And so could the man who held me close. Up until three months ago, I would have thought it unthinkable that not one, but two brooding mafia men could allow love in their hearts.
Lucia nodded, tears spilling past her lashes.
As Sophia and I untied the bags, we held them up toward the sun-kissed sky. The moment two dozen blue balloons floated toward the heavens, every guest threw out confetti, covering the powerful man. Horns blasted and the band started playing again. I stood where I was as the couple was congratulated, trying to keep from crying. Then I wrapped my hand around the locket, a smile turning up the corners of my mouth.
“I love you, baby,” Enzo whispered in my ear.
“I know. That I do know.”
And I did.
I’d fallen hard for a dangerous, dominating man and at this point, I couldn’t imagine a life without him.

Enzo
“You are a beast,” Joy said from beside me. She had such a way with words that made me laugh.
“You haven’t seen anything yet.”
“Is the blindfold necessary?”
“Yes.”
“No fair,” she teased.
“Not in my world.” I found myself smiling more around her, especially after the Russians had been defeated. Had additional threats been made? Yes, but I didn’t take them seriously at this point. With the number of soldiers that had been eliminated, it would take time for the two new Pakhans to rebuild their ranks.
We’d be ready in the interim.
While the bridge project had been stalled, it was likely to go through in the future with our blessing. After the recent meeting with the Five Families, it had been determined that all of us should stand behind the construction, providing the necessary funding. It was beneficial to every syndicate.
While D’Artagnan was healing nicely, I was still considered the Don until he’d made a full recovery. At least our businesses were once again running smoothly.
I pulled the car into the driveway, still feeling joyful. The strong emotion continued to be strange, yet I liked the feeling. Maybe I was experiencing a little bit of what others would call normal.
When I cut the engine, she sighed in her exaggerated manner. The woman was many things. A fighter. A survivor. A lover. And she was overly dramatic, which I found endearing. As I climbed out, I took my time walking to the other side of the car. She was already attempting to get the jump on me.
“You know better than to ignore the rules.”
“I don’t like your rules.”
“You, my beautiful wife, have no say over them.” When I whisked her into my arms, she gasped and started fighting me, her playful actions pushing my cock to full attention. “Be careful or I’ll spank that beautiful bottom of yours.”
“Oh, no, you won’t.”
I opened the door, walking inside. This day had been a long time coming, although I never imagined sharing it with a wife. As soon as I eased her down, I planted my hands on her hips. “Are you ready?”
