She pins me with her gaze, crossing her arms. “Then if you love him, you’ll let him go.”
“I’m sorry?”
She says something in Greek, switching over to English. “You’re no good for him. Ftou. Ftou. Ftou.” My eyes go wide with shock as she spits on the ground near my feet.
“I’m sorry you feel that way. Excuse me,” I say, running to the bathroom and shutting and locking the door as I break down into tears.
Chapter Twenty
Darius
We board the Parisi family jet, and Lily immediately puts in earbuds and grabs her laptop, getting to work. She’s been distant ever since lunch, and I don’t fucking like it.
Hours pass of her ignoring my existence. She finally has to take a break, and I wait for her right outside the bathroom. Lily opens the door, jumping in surprise when she nearly runs into me. “Sorry, all yours,” she says, trying to squeeze past me.
I grab her, tossing her over my shoulder and carrying her to the small bedroom. “Darius, what are you doing?” she asks as I close and lock the door.
“I’m not letting you out until you tell me what’s wrong,” I warn her.
“Nothing’s wrong,” she says in a clipped tone.
Taking a seat on the foot of the bed, I splay her petite body over my lap. My dick becomes rock-hard when I hike up her dress and palm her pretty little ass cheek in my hand. Ducking my head, I slowly pull her thong down and off with my teeth—obsessed with the way her skin pebbles before my eyes. I focus, giving her ass a firm smack.
“What the hell?” She hisses.
“Let’s try this again,” I say, giving her ass a warning pat. “What’s wrong?”
“Don’t fucking touch me.” Lily tries to squirm out of my lap, but she’s not going anywhere.
I give her ass another smack, this one harder. “Lily, tell me what’s wrong, or it’s going to be a long, uncomfortable flight for you,” I warn her.
“What’s wrong? What’s wrong is you left me for a quickie with your ex, and then your mother insulted me and spit at me!”
I smack her ass again. “That was for the first part of that statement, which is fucking ridiculous. I didn’t have sex with Zoe.”
“Did she have sex with you?” Lily demands.
“What? No.”
“Not sex then, but did you hook up in any way? Oral? Hand job? Fingering? Kissing?”
“Lily, of course not. Why would you say that?”
“I just thought…” She trails off as her body begins to tremble.
I sit her up so I can see her face. “Hey, don’t do that,” I say, taking my thumb and wiping away her tears.
“Why did you go with her, then?” she asks quietly.
“Because Zoe asked me to take a look at the check engine light on her rental.” The check engine light wasn’t even on; she just wanted an excuse to hit me up. Probably because she heard from bigmouth Kat how successful I am now. Zoe was always an uppity social climber, even as a teenager. I don’t fucking feel bad about skipping town on her all those years ago.
“Oh,” Lily says quietly.
Slipping off my shoes, I remove Lily’s sandals and walk us around to the bed. “Aggeloudhi mou, I’m not your ex.” I gently lay her down before climbing in bed beside her. “He was a fool.” She’s stopped crying, and I take that as a good sign as I continue, “I am many things, but a fool isn’t one of them. What we’ve got is too damn good; there’s no way I’d fuck it up like that, I promise you.” Cupping her cheeks, I tell her unequivocally, “I’ve never been a cheater, and I’m not going to start by cheating on the woman of my dreams. Αφοσ?ωση.”
“I don’t know what that means.” She sniffs.
“Loyalty. You have mine.”
