It’s our last day, and I’m so sad this Grecian dream is coming to an end. The good news is I’m almost finished with my essay, though. Yay!
“Wifey.” Darius returns to our cabin with a breakfast tray.
“Thank you,” I say, giving him a kiss before closing my laptop and placing it on the nightstand. I look over the selection of pastries, breakfast meats, and fruit—my eyes landing on a bowl of pomegranate. “You wouldn’t be trying to pull a Hades?” I tease. “Trick me so I’ll return to you always?”
“Your beauty puts Persephone’s to shame,” he says, popping an aril into his mouth as he takes a seat next to me.
“You didn’t answer my question,” I remind him.
Darius yanks me into his lap to where I’m straddling him. Kissing me, he thrusts his tongue into my mouth—transferring the ruby red seed to mine.
Pulling back from him, I make a show of chewing and swallowing. Smiling, he feeds me another aril, and I accept his offering. “I’m not going anywhere,” I say, cupping his face and kissing him again—this time moving the aril to his mouth with my tongue.
His eyes darkening, he tugs my hair gently to where I’m nose-to-nose with him. It’s his turn to chew and swallow. “And I’m not going anywhere,” he declares. “Where would I go, when heaven is right here?” He yanks on the ends of my tied belt robe, and it parts like a curtain.
I shrug out of it, and Darius’ eyes travel to my bare tits, looking at me like I’m the most delicious thing he’s ever seen. My confidence soaring, I give my nipples a little tweak; God, this man makes me feel like the sexiest woman on earth.
“Naughty angel.” He chastises, his nostrils flaring. “You know what happens to bad girls, don’t you Lily?”
Mmm, I do. But before he can follow through with that yummy threat, Iris knocks on the door. “Mama! Darius!”
“To be continued,” Darius promises, pulling my robe back on and tying it for me.
I hop out of bed and open the door, and Iris comes whirling into our room like a tiny tornado. “Morning, sweetie,” I say, picking her up and kissing her.
“Who’s ready to go explore?” Darius asks.
“Me!” Iris says, bouncing in my arms.
“I knew I could count on the rainbow goddess,” Darius says, and she beams. “I’ve got a big day planned for us, and then we’ll visit my mamá.”
“Really?” I ask, feeling nervous at the prospect.
He nods. “She’s excited to meet you. Both of you,” he says to Iris.
“Darius, a word,” I tell him.
“Are you in trouble?” Iris wonders.
“Probably,” he tells her with a wink. “Let’s go find Kat.”
Iris hops down from my arms without protest and takes Darius’ big hand as he leads her out.
I finish my coffee and a few bites of pastry, and throw on a casual sundress and comfy sandals. Walking to the bathroom, I’m putting the finishing touches on my makeup when Darius returns.
“Yes, wifey?” he watches me in the mirror with an amused expression.
“What’s our story?” I ask, placing my makeup in my bag.
“What do you mean?”
“How did we meet? In case anyone asks.” I can’t exactly say I was walking into a strip club where I dance, when I accidentally overheard Darius threaten another dancer.
“The park,” he answers smoothly. “I was running. You and Iris were there, and you couldn’t keep those pretty little eyes off me. Or my dick,” he says smugly.
My cheeks heat at being caught. “You’re not allowed to wear gray sweatpants in public.”
Darius laughs.
