I nod. "I know."

"Once Chase knows, we'll support you. When you get scared, we'll be your courage. When you want to run away, we'll be your strength. And when you need to fall apart, we'll be your place to land."

The tears are falling freely now as I reach up to cup his cheek in my hand. "This is why I chose you, Brody. I hope I didn't make you feel like a second choice after what I just shared because you're not. I love Chase, and I'm on my way there with you, but I couldn't have told him all of this first. You're going to be my rock; I can already tell."

"I like the sound of that," he admits. "I know Chase was meant to be with his pack tonight, but I think we should ask him to join us. You should tell him now. I know you're feeling raw, but do you really want to rip yourself open again after you've finally recovered?"

I shake my head, and he smiles.

"Good. How about I run you a bath, and then I'll call up to the pack suite?"

"That sounds amazing." Before I can say anything else, the door to the nest pops open to reveal a wide-eyed Chase.

As soon as his eyes land on my tear-soaked face, he throws himself down beside me and yanks me from Brody's arms. "What's wrong, omega? I could feel your pain through the bond. The guys tried to keep me in the suite, but I knew you needed me."

He turns on Brody with a hiss. "What the hell did you do to her?"

"Calm down, Chase. Brody didn't do anything but ask me a question that made me face some hard truths." I turn his head until he's looking at me. "Brody was just about to call you. We need to talk."

"The words every man dreads hearing," Chase says with raised eyebrows. "Please start talking so I don't get the wrong idea."

I laugh, shaking my head. "Jackass, we're bonded. I can't get away from you without likely killing one or both of us."

He considers that before nodding. "Okay, yeah. That makes me feel better. Now, I know something upset you. Please tell me what's going on so I can stop freaking out imagining what it could be."

I sit up between my two pack mates and spill the story to Chase. It's easier the second time, and there are less tears. Afterward, they both comfort me, and I finally get that bath before the three of us pile into the bed, the nest too much of a mess for us to climb back into after we're clean.

As I fall asleep between the two of them, I thank the stars for bringing me these two amazing men. With them by my side, none of this seems as scary. They'll help me move past these fears so I can build us the pack we deserve.

Chapter Thirty

Sophia

When I wake up the next morning, I want to run to my nest and bury myself in softness. I also know that's not an option.

"Good morning, Sophia," Chase says as his head pops up from under the covers. Brody's arms tighten around me before loosening, telling me he's also awake. "How are you feeling?"

I lean over to kiss him. "Overwhelmed. Like I want to hide away for the day."

Brody tsks behind me just before his lips brush against the back of my neck. "You can't just hide every time you're scared of something."

"I'm aware." I snort because I knew that's what he was going to say. "Just because I want to hide doesn't mean I will."

"Of course you won't,"Chase says with a smile. "Because you're a badass."

I snort again. "Yeah, I'm not feeling much like a badass right now."

"And that's okay," Brody murmurs as he runs his nose along my neck. "Like I told you last night, the two of us will be here to pick you up whenever you need us to."

I roll onto my back so I can see both of them, smiling when Brody leans down to kiss me. "So, now what?"

"It depends on you, baby," Chase says softly.

"What you feel ready for," Brody adds. "You could tell everyone what you're going through."

"Oh, hell, no." I'm about to jump out of the bed and run to my nest, but their hands hold me in place.

Brody chuckles. "I'm not saying you should do that. It's just one of your options. We can go out there and say nothing to them. We won't pretend like last night didn't happen, but we can keep it between the three of us for now. But eventually, you're going to have to open up to any alpha that you're seriously considering. They need to know where your head is at."
