I hate that he's asking me if he can sit beside his omega, but I also appreciate it. He might not know exactly what's going on, but he knows something is going on. I nod, and he leads us to sit at Tessa's side while Liam and Carson sit opposite us next to Finn.
Once we're all settled, Bree takes a deep breath. "Sophia, this is twice you've passed out from being overwhelmed. Finn has filled me in on what happened, and I'm hopeful that us discussing this together will help you not feel so overwhelmed. With that being said, I'm going to have to insist that you check in with Finn every day for at least the next week or two. I won't mandate sessions with him, but I am going to require you to at least speak with him every day."
"That seems fair, and meeting with him regularly seems like it might do me some good." I give Finn a small smile. "Sorry about that."
Finn shakes his head. "There's no reason to apologize. It was a lot for you to deal with. We're going to work on ways for you to not become so overwhelmed in situations like this though because passing out like this can be very dangerous."
"Look, I don't want to be rude—" Liam breaks off. "Okay, that's a lie. I don't care if I'm being rude. I need someone to tell us what the hell is going on. Sophia passed out, and somehow Chase knew it because he stopped mid-step and rushed down the stairs to find him carrying her up from the basement. I need answers before I start beating the shit out of someone."
Carson lays his hand on top of the alpha's, squeezing. "Maybe don't threaten the people who have the information you want?"
I snort, pulling their attention to me. They both smile as Chase pulls me closer to him. I turn back to Finn. "I can't guarantee there won't be any more interruptions, but please continue."
Finn glances at Bree and Tessa, who both give him a sharp nod. "Sophia and I were talking about your date and the way she growled at Asher at the end. We've discussed the time at the cabin a few days ago already, and I was beginning to suspect that there was more going on than just two omegas bonding. I told her that I needed to speak with Chase to see if he is feeling the same things as Sophia, and she growled at me.
"Her reactions confirmed what I believe is going on. Sophia knew nothing about this so it's possible that none of you may either. I believe Chase and Sophia are an omega pair." He lifts his hand when Liam goes to interrupt him. "An omega pair is something that used to be common when there was an abundance of omegas. An omega pair is two omegas who feel a pull toward one another—a connection they can't explain."
"Because they're fated, and that isn't something that can be explained," Asher breathes, shaking his head. "You said the last pair was over seventy years ago?"
Finn nods, and Asher sighs. "That would've been my grandparents' pack."
"Say what?" I ask, jaw dropping as all eyes turn to Asher.
Asher laughs. "Unfortunately, they're all gone now. My mother was born into the Ortega family. Lewitt is her pack name. My grandmothers were an omega pair. When they were discovered, it had been ten years since the last omega pair. They'd already begun the rhetoric of omegas not getting along and my grandmothers met by chance when a snowstorm stranded them. It also stranded the rest of my grandparents, and that's how their pack was formed."
"I'm guessing you know more about omega pairs than I do then," Finn says with a chuckle. "That'll be helpful. The only reason I know as much as I do is because of a research paper, and I became intrigued by the idea. I've read everything on the topic that I could get my hands on."
"So what does this mean for me and Chase? For the show? Does this mean I have to choose Pack Lewitt?"
"Absolutely not." Asher gives a sharp shake of his head. "It means that you and Chase are meant to be together, but that doesn't mean you need to choose our pack. Chase has chosen us so we'll be a part of your overall pack, but when a pack centers around an omega pair, not all members are involved with both omegas. It is still your choice of who you want to be with, and we would never insist on you choosing us just because Chase is yours and you're his."
I turn to Bree, wanting to believe Asher's words, but not knowing if I can. Her smile is soft as she gives me a small nod. "Finn?"
Finn glances from her to me and then to Asher. "Everything I've read shows that it isn't a requirement that all members be involved with both omegas. Asher would probably know better than me since he knew the last omega pair."
"Okay, well, that's good." Bree sighs as she turns her attention back to me. "Now we need to figure out what you want to do. Do you want to stay on the show?"
"Of course," I tell her before she's even finished talking.
She and Tessa laugh. "Okay, I just wanted to make sure. Will you and Chase be able to continue on the show? With the possessiveness and protectiveness?"
I suck my lip into my mouth as I turn my head to look at him. He shrugs. "I don't see why not. As long as everyone is aware of what's going on so they don't try to get between us. Chase, does that sound right?"
"Yeah. If Sophia wants to continue on the show, then she should. I think there might be some adjustment with the two of us, but I'm sure we can figure it out."
Asher grabs Chase by the chin, turning his head so he can look him in the eye. "And you're okay with all of this? You're okay being fated to Sophia? And you're okay to stay on the show knowing she might not choose the rest of us?"
"I mean, that would suck, but that just means the three of you need to pick up the slack and get on it. Show her how amazing you are. It's not like I'm going to be leaving the three of you, and I just want her to be happy." He smiles as he turns back to me, kissing the top of my head. "But it's kind of nice to understand why I'm feeling the way I am."
Tessa nods. "I think the both of you will need to meet with Finn a few times a week together. Individual sessions will be up to you and Finn. This isn't something any of us could've anticipated, but we need to make sure both omegas are being taken care of in every way. That includes your mental health."
"I won't say no to that," I tell her. "And what about the other suitors? They need to know this as well."
"Well, we're all going to be at the rose ceremony," Carson offers.
"That's true. Might as well tell them then." Bree's hands slide into her hair. "That's nothing for you all to worry about though. Tessa and I will explain it at the beginning of the ceremony. I'm sure it'll be a surprise to most of them, but that can work in your favor, Sophia. It'll give you a chance to see if anyone is different than they might have seemed."
“But will the network care? If there’s been propaganda being pushed by the government or whatever, won’t that put the network in a hard spot?” I glance between the two women. “Or your company? Isn’t this something we should be worried about?”
