"I gave Sophia your letter, and she read it while we were in the car. I won't tell you what she said to me in confidence, but she seemed to enjoy the contents.”
Alejandro visibly relaxes on Jace's other side. "Good. That means I have a chance of not being sent home on Saturday. Thank you again, Ezra, for the brilliant idea. I would've hated to lose my chance because I gave her a shitty first impression with no way to fix it."
Ramsey huffs and my eyes narrow as I turn my attention to him, Zayd, and Silas.
"What the fuck is your problem now?" Am I being rude? Yes, I sure the fuck am. Do I care? Not in the least. Ramsey has been a little shit since Sophia informed them she wouldn't be considering them to become part of her pack, and to be honest, I can't stand him.
"It's just interesting to me that Alejandro felt he needed to send her a letter because he feels he disappointed her in some way. Does that mean I can expect a letter from Sophia?"
I'm on my feet before I realize it. Jace is quick to follow suit, though I don't know if it's to make sure that I don't go after Ramsey, or if it's because he wants to go after the other alpha as well.
"What about the situation aren't you grasping? Your relationship with your pack mates is triggering to her. Just because you don't know the full story doesn't mean you get to act like an asshole."
"Alpha?" Silas's voice is quiet as he speaks, but I wouldn't say timid.
Ramsey's face softens as he turns to his beta. "Yes, beta?"
"May I speak?"
Ramsey nods. "Of course you may. You know I respect both yours and Zayd's opinions."
Silas nods, glancing at Zayd before turning his attention back to Ramsey. "Both Zayd and I are disappointed in your response to Sophia's decision."
Ramsey jerks back as if he was slapped, and I find myself taking another step forward. If he loses it on his pack mate, I won't hesitate to put a stop to it.
"Why didn't you say anything sooner?" Ramsey asks, glancing between the two of them.
"We hoped that once you got over the hurt, you'd come to your senses. But you haven't. You're still lashing out at Sophia—even if she isn't here to know that's what you're doing." Zayd links his hand with Silas's. "We love having you as our Dom, but the relationship that the three of us share isn't everyone's cup of tea. Sophia never spoke down about our relationship, or made me feel like she looked down on us for our kinks."
"But you've continued to complain about the fact that Sophia said it's not her kink, and that the dynamic wouldn't work within the pack she plans to build. You have no right to be angry with her. She is an omega. She gets to choose her pack and if we're not the right fit for her, then so be it. Does it suck?" Silas laughs. "Of course it does, but that should be the end of it. You can't guilt her into picking us despite her beliefs, nor should you. You're not acting like the Dom I know and love."
Realizing that neither Zayd nor Silas are in any danger from their head alpha, Jace and I lower ourselves into our seats, staring at the three of them with wide eyes.
"Shit." Ramsey runs a hand over his face.
How did I not realize that was what I was doing? You're right. I was holding onto the hurt and turning it into anger. I'm sorry."
He glances around at all of us. "To all of you, I'm sorry that you've had to listen to me going on about this—about her—in this way. Of course our way of life isn't for everyone, and she has every right to make the best choice for herself."
"I also didn't realize it was triggering for her. That makes me look even more like an ass—which I deserve because I was being one." He shakes his head again. "Even if she hadn't already decided to send me home, I definitely deserve to be sent home. Zayd, Silas. I'm so sorry for the way I've been acting. I'm sure it's been unsettling for the two of you. That's something I guess I need to work on."
"At least you have realized it now. It could have been much worse if you'd never realized. Then think how much of an ass you'd look like."
I snort at Ezra's bluntness, though I'm curious how Ramsey will react to his words.
His eyes narrow on the beta before he shakes his head. "When you're right, you're right. Not much I can say to defend myself."
Jace's elbow digs into my side. "So how was your date? What did you two get up to?"
I elbow him back. "Not at all what you're insinuating with that tone." I bark out a laugh. "Sophia took me for a spa day."
There's a moment of silence before most of the guys fall into their laughter, making me grin.
"Go head, laugh it up, but it was fucking amazing. I will be going regularly after the show's over. It was heavenly, and getting to spend that time with Sophia, while she was relaxing? Honestly, it was amazing. She's amazing."
"Damn, you sound love sick already and you've only known her for twenty-four hours." Jace laughs. "But she really is something special."
"Yeah, she is," Alejandro echos and I can't help but grin at the seven men around me. Three of them don't have a chance with her—unfortunate for them—but the rest of us? I definitely think we're a little—or in some of our cases, a lot—smitten with this omega.
