"The two of you can walk me to my room. Then you can help Chase find his pack before coming back to my room, okay? I won't turn down a good cuddle session after I shower."
Brooks grins. "You're gonna shower without me?"
I wrinkle my nose. "I guess I can wait until you get back. Come on." I hesitate, glancing at Tessa and Bree once more. "Unless you still need us?"
"No. Go. Rest up before dinner. I'll tell Ulf to be ready by seven, and then the two of you can head out, okay?"
I nod. "Sounds good to me."
The three of us head for my suite, and as soon as I'm inside, I send them off to find the rest of Pack Lewitt. I can't believe how today's turned out this far, but a shower and some cuddles with Brooks should settle me. Maybe I'll even get an orgasm or two out of it. That's something I certainly won't complain about.
Chapter Twenty-seven
Ulf
At seven on the dot, I knock on Sophia's door. Tessa hadn't given me a lot of information when she and Bree had sought me out earlier, but they had told me that something had happened involving the omegas. That they'd been upset so Chase wouldn't be joining us—which is fine. I like the other omega, but I'm not interested in courting him. Nope, Sophia is the only one I'm here for.
It'll be nice to spend the evening with her—though, I wouldn't have minded going on the date with both omegas. The door opens, and I'm surprised to find Brooks standing there. He gives me a sheepish grin. "Come on in. Sophia is just finishing up getting ready. We slept through the alarm."
Oddly, I don't feel jealous knowing that he'd been here with her after whatever had upset her and Chase. I nod, following him into the sitting room. "Thanks. Is there anything I should know?"
Brooks makes a face. "I'm fairly certain everyone will find out about it eventually. Pack Lewitt is sure to be spitting mad. While on the lunch date, Dylan was kind of being a dick. And that's before he put his hands on Chase."
"He did what?" My back straightens, my nose flaring as anger and disbelief rush through me.
Brooks holds up a hand. "He grabbed his wrist and dragged him across the hot springs, pulling him onto his lap. But he definitely held on harder than he needed to. I'm fairly certain I saw bruises forming when I dropped him off with his pack."
"You didn't tell me that." Sophia's voice is sharp.
We both turn to find her standing in the doorway, hands on her hips. Her eyes are narrowed as she glares at Brooks, who just chuckles. "You needed a nap, and if you'd known, you would have insisted on going to find him. He's okay. His pack is taking care of him."
"You still should have told me. Don't keep things from me, Brooks." She shakes her head, turning to me with a smile. "You look dashing, Ulf."
I duck my head, smiling as my face heats up. "Hold that thought, darlin'." I purse my lips as I face Brooks again. "Tell me one reason why I shouldn't go beat the shit out of him right now."
This just makes his smile grow. "Sophia slapped the shit out of him and called him out on his bullshit. Then I beat the crap out of him. I got away with it because of the situation, but if anyone else takes a swing at him, there's a good chance they'll be sent home."
"Good on you. I won't do that then. I'd hate to be sent home." Turning back to Sophia, I smile. She's wearing a pair of black leather pants that hug her every curve paired with a bright red shirt that does the same. Glancing at her feet, I realize she's rocking some kick-ass boots with a killer heel. "You, my dear, look breathtaking."
She laughs, throwing her head back as she does so. "I love how you go from threatening to kick someone's ass to complimenting me so easily."
I shrug. What am I supposed to say to that? I can't believe Dylan did this. We've done a lot of catching up since we arrived and up until now I considered him a friend. But I won't be with someone who treats others like that—especially omegas.
"Why don't we go see Chase before we head out? I'm sure you'd worry about him less if you see him."
A smile lights up her face. "Really? I'd love that."
"Asher said they were heading for their suite once I dropped Chase off with them." Brooks gestures to the door. "I'll walk up with the two of you. I want to see how he's doing as well."
I place my hand on Sophia's lower back and lead her from the room.
"I don't even know what suite they're in." She pouts as we ascend the stairs causing me and Brooks to laugh.
"Don't worry. We know where their suite is." I kiss the top of her head as Brooks takes the lead, turning right when the stairs split. We head up both flights of stairs until we find ourselves standing outside of the pack suite.
Sophia pushes herself between us and knocks on the door. We stand there for a moment, and Sophia has just lifted her hand in the air to knock again when the door flies open.
"What?" Liam snarls before his eyes land on Sophia, his eyes softening. "I'm sorry, omega. Tempers are a little up in the pack right now. If I'd known it was you on the other side of the door, I wouldn't have snapped."
