I know I'm whining, but one of them is always sitting on my bladder. Half the time I don't even make it to the bathroom in time and end up pissing myself. This is not an attractive time for me.
"Let me just help you to the bathroom, baby."
"Fine," I grumble, and luckily, we make it to the bathroom in time. But that's mainly because I've given up wearing pants and panties. It's the best chance I have at making it to the toilet in time.
Chase chuckles at my moan as I empty my bladder. Asshole.
He helps me to my feet once I'm finished and as I'm washing my hands, I hear the front door open and close.
"Where is everyone?" Ulf calls out, and I smile. Now that he's home, it won't be long until the others are as well.
Chase helps me down the hallway and into the kitchen where I find Ulf and Gage leaning against the counter. They both light up when they see me and that right there is the only reason I don't mind being pregnant. Every single one of my mates lights up when they see me carrying our babies.
Gage ducks down and presses his lips to my belly as Ulf swoops in to kiss me. "How are you doing, Soph?"
"I'm good. Can't get off the couch without someone's help, but hey, I made it to the bathroom this time."
He chuckles as Gage continues to speak to my stomach. I shake my head before tapping the top of his head. "What about me, asshole? Don't I get a kiss?"
Gage gives me a sheepish grin. "I'm sorry, love. I'm just so excited about the babies, and I keep hoping that if I tell them they're safe, they'll decide to come."
"Gods, you're adorable. Now get up here and give me a kiss." I'm smiling as he stands and does just that.
"Oh, good, you're home." Asher and Liam step into the kitchen, wearing shorts and t-shirts. The two of them have been working from home for the past two months as we expected the babies to come early. Chase has taken a leave from work, as have I. Luckily, since I made partner last year, my workload has lightened substantially, so it was no problem to take time off before the babies come.
Ulf and Gage are continuing to work for as long as they can. Summer is their busiest time of the year, and while the company has grown enough that they have plenty of workers to cover the workload, they don't want to leave them high and dry. They're trying to work through as many of the projects as possible before taking time off.
Jace can't exactly work from home, but he's taken on a manager and an assistant manager who will run things for him once the babies come. So while he's still working, he makes sure he's always home no later than six which means he should be home anytime now.
Foster is still taking clients, but since he opened his own massage therapy business in the house next door, he can be here at the drop of a hat. Just like with Jace, he makes sure to be home by six. But if he doesn't have later clients, then he heads home early. Today, he must have had a client because he's not home yet.
Today is Carson's last day at the vet's—like his last day ever. After the babies come, he's going to go back to school to become a vet himself, and then he plans to open up his own practice. Foster even offered to share space with him since the house next door is almost as big as our house. Okay, they're not really so much houses as they are compounds. Foster has to drive to and from work, and it takes him about ten minutes there and back.
Brody and Brooks are working up until I head to the hospital, but only because I insisted. It doesn't do anyone any good to have them hanging around here bored with me when they can be saving lives. Brody made sure to get himself reassigned to the fire station in our area and insisted that we call an ambulance when I go into labor so he can be the one that brings me. It makes him happy, so I didn't argue. Brooks works at the hospital where I'll be going, so he'll be able to join us if he's working.
Both of them are at work tonight on the overnight shifts, which always sucks.
"Honey, we're home!" Foster yells as he opens the front door. "We all pulled up within ten seconds of one another."
I start waddling toward the doorway that they'll be coming through, holding my arms out as soon as Foster, Jace, and Carson are in my line of sight. Each of them stops to kiss me, and then Carson shows me inside the box he's carrying to show me food from my favorite Mexican restaurant.
"Yes!" I give him an extra kiss for that.
Asher sighs. "I thought we decided spicy food doesn't work."
"We did," Carson says with a laugh. "But I'm not going to deny my omegas what they want, even if it'll give one of them massive reflux."
"Plus, I grabbed her meds on my way home." Jace hands me the bag. "Take one now and then again when we finish. Hopefully, that'll be enough to keep it from getting too bad."
"And this is why it's great to have so many mates. Everyone works together to make sure I'm taken care of."
"Huh," Foster scoffs. "I thought it was because it meant you and Chase are never left wanting for cock?"
"Gods, really, Foster?" Liam slaps him across the back of the head while the others laugh.
I shrug. "No, that's definitely the number one reason."
Chase is back at my side, helping me to the table as we all settle around it and dig into our food. I'm so focused on eating as much food as I can that I jump when Ulf clears his throat.
