Page 50 of Sinful Desires

My eyes widened as I took in the room that looked so much different from mine. A large king-sized bed sat in the center of the room with a rocking chair in the corner. There was a desk on the opposite side of the room and a closet with an additional door not far from that. Did he have his own bathroom?

“I bet you’re starving,” he commented, placing my leather jacket on the back of his rocking chair.

I didn’t bother to say anything as he walked over to his closet and started rummaging through it. Within moments, he was retreating with a black T-shirt clutched in his fist.

“If you want to take a bath and get warm, you can,” he offered. “The door is right there.” He motioned to the additional door I’d just been staring at moments earlier. “Towels are beneath the sink.” He handed me his shirt, which I hesitantly accepted.

So…he does have his own bathroom then.

“Thanks.”

He shrugged, a sheepish grin crawling across his handsome face, making him look even more appealing to me right now. “It’s nothing,” he assured me. “I’ll go find you something to eat while you’re getting bathed or whatever.

It sure felt like something. He went out of his way, late at night, to go looking for me. People weren’t usually that nice. I didn’t bother saying any of this though.

I didn’t get vulnerable often. It took a lot to get under my skin. Myles, however, was the exception. He was the only person in the world that I’d admit to being scared of. And I hated it.

Slipping into the bathroom, I pulled the door closed behind me and sat the shirt on the bathroom counter. I peered through the wall-length mirror at my reflection, scrunching up my nose in distaste at what I saw.

Dirt littered my necks and cheeks—probably from lying on the cold, hard ground. My eyes were dull, and the exposed skin around the dirt was tinted pink from the cold. When I peeled the hoodie from my body, I was surprised to only find smudges of dirt coated around my chest. My hair was a mess on top of my head but should be easy enough to work through since it was so short.

Stripping out of the rest of my clothes, I retrieved a towel from under the sink and sat it on top of the toilet. Next, I turned on the water, allowing the water to flood through my fingers as I tried to get it to the right temperature.

Once it was scalding hot, I stepped into the tub and sank down, leaning against the wall and extended my legs out in front of me. The hot liquid surrounded me, turning my pale skin pink. My muscles loosened and my breathing evened as I closed my eyes, reveling in the warmth.

As soon as the water turned a murky brown color, I unplugged the drain and stood, pulling the nozzle to the shower as I did. I wasn’t surprised to find feminine products in here. Collin was known as the playboy of this place, and he had some weird kind of relationship going on with that blonde girl. Lathering shampoo into my hand, I massaged it into my scalp before rinsing and did the same with the conditioner. After I’d finished washing myself, I wrapped the towel around my body and stepped out onto the floor.

Drying myself as quickly and efficiently as I could, I placed it down on the counter and slipped Collin’s shirt over my head. The hem of the fabric reached my upper thighs, barely covering my ass. I guess that’s what I got for being relatively tall.

I retreated into the bedroom, leaving my dirty clothes and used towel behind. Collin was perched at the foot of the bed, a mountain of snacks and drinks surrounding him. A snort of amusement left me at the sight, but my stomach growled viciously despite it. His eyes raked down my figure hungrily as he took me in, and the look in his eyes was enough to make me squeeze my thighs together. I blamed it on a lack of sex.

“I didn’t know what you wanted, or how hungry you were…so I bought a bunch of different things.” He motioned for me to sit beside him, so I did—careful not to sit on any of the food items.

I hurriedly reached for a pack of the white powdered donuts and tore the plastic from it before ripping into my first one with my teeth. I felt like a rabid animal who had been starved for too long. My eyes rolled back, and a hungry moan ripped its way from my throat. Fuck. Have they always tasted this good?

“Here,” he said with an amused smirk as he offered me a bottle of vitamin water. I dropped the donuts in my lap and took it from him, unscrewing the cap and chugging the liquid. I’d never been a fan of vitamin water—or water in general, but desperate times called for desperate measures. A fruity flavor that I couldn’t quite place burst along my tongue.

Collin was quiet as I ate snack after snack and finished off two waters. At one point, concern captured his features as he watched me eat so much, but he never said a word.

Once I finished up, he placed all of the snacks in the bottom drawer of his dresser and joined me back on the bed. “You can sleep here tonight,” he offered. “We’ll skip classes tomorrow. You need it.”

Tucking my lower lip between my teeth in contemplation, my gaze flicked to his. “Won’t that look suspicious?”

“I don’t care.”

A mixture of warmth and unease settled inside me at his words. “Why are you doing this?” I queried, finding it difficult to believe that he was doing all of this out of the goodness of his heart.

From my experience, guys didn’t just do nice things unless they were getting something out of it. A small sigh fluttered past my lips. Even if he did have some underlying motive for helping me, maybe it was worth it seeing as how I was safe and away from that cellar.

“I don’t agree with Myles’ reasons for wanting to torture you,” he admitted. “Kidnapping you seemed a bit…much.”

I nodded my agreement but didn’t comment on it. At least Collin seemed normal enough.

“I bet you’re exhausted,” he said suddenly, bringing himself to his feet. I watched as he moved toward the other side of the room and flicked off the light, clouding us in complete darkness.

So…no ulterior motive then? I wasn’t sure why, but this only made me want him more. I nodded again. I wasn’t exhausted, but sleep wouldn’t be difficult to find if I tried.

Crawling up the bed, I made myself comfortable on the side closest to the bathroom and closet, burrowing my way beneath the warm, heavy comforter. My head sunk into the pillow with ease. This was twenty times better than the cellar, that was for sure.
