“Well, it’s so nice to meet both of you,” Bexley said with a smile.
“You know our Aunt Alex?” Henry asked.
“I do, yes,” she said.
“Boys, can I have my legs back?” Alex asked, trying to wiggle herself free.
“Let your aunt go,” Margaret instructed.
“I have to go get ready.”
“Oh, my God, I just noticed.” Margaret pointed. “Your hair.”
“You cut your hair? Mother is going to–”
“I know,” Alex interrupted her brother and gave him a wicked grin. “I can’t wait.”
“Oh, you’re evil,” he said.
“I like it. It looks nice on you,” Margaret told her.
“Thank you. Bexley cut it.”
“You’re a doctor that cuts hair?” Larry asked.
“She’s a woman of many talents,” Alex replied instead, leaning over to kiss Bexley on the cheek.
“Eww. Gross,” Louis said.
Henry laughed.
“They say that to us all the time whenwekiss, so don’t take offense,” Margaret shared.
“Are you okay here?” Alex asked. “I can show you to–”
“I’m okay,” Bexley said.
“We’ll take good care of her,” Margaret told Alex.
“Boys, stop running around. You’ll ruin your suits,” Larry said when the boys just took off running around the room. “If you two ever have children, maybe pray for girls.”
Bexley froze. Alex laughed. Then, Alex realized Bexley froze, took her hand, and squeezed it.
“He’s kidding.”
Bexley nodded.
“I’ll be right back, okay?” Alex said, kissing her on the lips this time.
“Okay,” she replied.
“So, you cut Alex’s hair?” Margaret asked, sitting on what looked to be a very uncomfortable couch.
“She asked me to,” Bexley said.
“You did a great job.”
“Thank you.”
