What the fuck?
“Gina?”
“Yes, lover boy. Long time,” she cooed into the phone.
Fucking hell. We’d let her live, and now, I was going to kill her. Maddy wasn’t saving Gina’s ass this time. No one was.
“You took what’s mine, Gina. Did you want to die?” I asked her coldly.
She let out a laugh. “You really claimed her? She’s so basic, Levi.”
“What the fuck do you want?” I growled.
“Levi,” Huck called out from a distance.
I turned to him and shook my head.
“I want freedom. I want to be able to show my face in town and not have to worry about my life. I want to see you. I miss you.”
“What the fuck?” I heard the man say in the background.
Huck was walking toward me.
“Where is Aspen?” I asked her as calmly as I could.
“I’ll text you our location. But you come alone. Don’t bring the boys. Especially not Blaise. First, you have to get him on the phone, assuring me that if I give her back to you, then I can have my life back.”
“What is it?” Huck asked, stopping in front of me.
“Gina,” I told him.
The understanding on his face was clear.
“Fine. I’ll talk to Blaise. He can call you while I’m on my way to get Aspen.”
“You see, I don’t trust that. I know how y’all work. You get an address when I get my freedom and some alone time with you.”
She wasn’t getting any fucking time with me.
“If you hurt her in any way, I will put a bullet in your head. This isn’t a threat. It’s the fucking truth.”
She sighed. “You’re not helping her case by saying things like that. Are you trying to make me jealous?”
“I want her safe. Untouched,” I repeated.
There was muffled arguing.
“I’ll keep her safe,” the man said over the line. “Gina won’t touch her.”
“NO ONE touches her,” I corrected him.
“No one,” he agreed.
“Let me talk to her.” I needed to hear her voice.
I heard the guy mutter a curse.
“Levi?” The tremble in her voice made my fucking knees buckle.
