His easy smile reassures me that they are. “Had a few tussles but nothing concerning.” I did notice a few of his guys having to fight hand to hand, I know how well they are trained though. I trained for years right by Max’s side. Dude is brutal.

“You think this massacre accomplished what you needed?” he asks seriously.

“Oh yeah, we have one little final touch to implement and then we can be sure Romano is tucking his tail.” I can see his curiosity, but I wait to say anything until I spot Noah and Ryder coming back in through the side door. They both nod, excited grins on their faces.

“Ahh, here we go,” I say as they walk up to me and hand me a phone. I show the photo to Max. He draws his brows up and looks at me.

“That’s Romano’s son. In the hotel room where he’s staying.”

Max whistles, shaking his head back and forth. “Cutting the last tie he may have still had here.”

I nod my agreement. I knew Max would understand my thinking behind the body. It was more than just hurting the guy, though I do love the added bonus. It really did serve a greater purpose. I needed to ensure he had nothing holding him back to this place.

“What’s next?” he asks.

“We wait and see where Romano leads us.”

Scar hasher signaturemanic grin as she asks, “Ready for the encore?”

As soon as Dare set foot into Unbidden Desires we knew it was going to have to be burned down to the ground. There was no way any one of us would be okay with leaving that hell intact.

Not after finding out just how truly horrendous it is. We knew it was bad, that was the whole reason Scar was so skeptical of allowing Dare to work there, even for a short amount of time. But none of us were prepared to hear the details of what really happens behind closed doors there.

I’m still reeling from how smoothly the auction went. Even with how prepared we all were, I don’t think any of us expected to get away as lightly scathed as we managed. It almost feels unreal. Like it didn’t happen, couldn’t have happened as perfectly as it did.

My hands still shake from watching Scar be rolled out onto that stage in a cage, a chain around her neck. There was a panic that seized my heart and I almost slipped into the memories of Jen being in a cage like that. The moment I lost her forever. Fragile and tied down, helpless to save herself. Too far for me to save her.

Scar isn’t Jen though. She’d never be in a position where she’s completely helpless. She looked like the ultimate bad ass when she unfurled her body from the fetal position, grenades in hand. Her savage grin doing nothing to alleviate the erratic beat of my heart as a gun was raised in her direction.

And here this bitch sits, totally unfazed, ready for more destruction. No wonder I’m so fucking obsessed with her. I will give it to her though. It makes sense to blow everything up all at once. Spread our message thoroughly through the entire city of St Graves in one afternoon. The auction, the strip club, and our personal touch just for Romano.

Three last strikes to ensure he has to abandon his empire and disappear. We already took out a large number of his allies, business partners, and clients with the stunt we just pulled. Taking out a well known, albeit vile, business only furthers our own agenda.

We are already suited up, armed to the teeth, and have more than enough C4 on hand. The more I watch the excitement pouring off of Scar, the more I feel my own build. At least this run won’t be as risky. Hardly any risk at all.

We aren’t all in perfect shape. Nicholis did get hit in the thigh. Mikey is gonna need a CT and some stitches in his head. Max’s guys have some cuts and bruises, but mostly we made it out without too many damages. We don’t need this large of a team to take out the strip club.

Dare got more information than just what we used to make today possible in her time at the club. We already know we took out the owners and a good chunk of management just now, but we also know who is still on the floor at the club. Who we still need to exterminate.

Scar, Kade, and I could get it done on our own, but it’s clear we aren’t the only ones still riding the adrenaline high from our success. The hard part is over, the biggest risks we’ve all taken, the most detailed and intricate plan we’ve pulled off is now behind us. Who wouldn’t want to celebrate by blowing up a little slice of hell?

“Baby girl, if I didn’t love you so much, I’d be worried about that smile,” Noah teases.

Rachel laughs, a deep throaty chuckle that makes Alec grab her by the hips. Guess they like to celebrate the same way we do. “That’s my favorite smile of Scar’s,” she says. “Promises good times.”

Scar’s eyes light up. “You still in?”

“Ah, Scar,” Alec sighs. “You’ve made my mistress even more bloodthirsty than she already was. I didn’t even know it was possible. Of course we’re in.”

Rachel snorts, no longer fazed by his taunting. “You’re just as bad.”

“Of course, I am.”

Scar hesitates, her eyes flicking to where Declan is herding some of the others into the car. He’s headed straight back to the house to start patching people up.

Rachel notices and bites her lip as she fights back another laugh.

Alec doesn’t bother to. “You thought we’d skip cause my brother is a slow ass that didn’t see the giant ass thug running at him?” He shakes his head. “Yeah, no thank you.”
