I kept at her until she melted off the wall and gave me her weight, collapsing against me, boneless. She was fucking spectacular.
I pulled my hand out of her pants, waiting for her to peel her eyelids open so she could see as I stuffed the fingers I’d just used to fuck her into my mouth and sucked them clean of her.
“Fuck yeah, Sassy. I knew you’d taste like heaven, baby.”
“That was... Si...”
I moved in and kissed her breathless all over again.
“Got your mark on me this time when you bit down on my shoulder to muffle your moans. Just a heads up: next time I’m gonna make you wear my mark.”
She blinked out of her daze, a slow smile creeping at the corners of her mouth. She loved the sound of that, and I couldn’t fucking wait to keep that promise. I could have stayed there with her all damn night; unfortunately, our moment was interrupted by the sound of laughter outside the classroom door.
She came back to herself, all of her senses returning at once as her eyes went wide and she slapped a hand over her mouth.
“I can’t believe we just did that,” she whisper-yelled, sounding positively scandalized. “In aschool!”And just like that, she was back to cute again.
“That was just an appetizer sweetheart,” I promised. “You need to prepare yourself.”
She gulped, watching raptly as I palmed my dick through my jeans, adjusting my hard-on. “F-for what?”
I tilted her chin up and spoke against her swollen lips. “Now that I know what you taste like, I’ll be coming back for more. And next time I get my hands on you, I’m going to fuckingwreckyou.”

SLOANE
Icould see Asher sitting at a small table by the large windows that faced the street when I pulled my car up in front of Muffin Top. Usually I didn’t mind waking up early, but I’d had trouble getting to sleep the night before. After what had happened between Silas and me in that classroom, my stupid brain refused to shut off. I replayed every single word he said, everything he made me feel, over and over until the sun finally started to rise over the mountains in the distance, painting the sky a lighter color.
It didn’t help that every time I moved, I felt a twinge between my thighs from having his fingers inside me. I could still feel him in the slight bruising on my lips from his kisses and in the small scratches his stubble had left behind on my neck. Every time I moved, a twinge shot through my core, reminding me how spectacularly he’d played my body the night before.
I’d never come that hard in my life. And we hadn’t even had sex! In fact, unless he took care of himself once he got home, Silas hadn’t even gotten off. His sole focus in that classroom last night was me, and I would have been lying if I said that wasn’t a heady thing. I could only imagine that being the center of attention for a man like Silas Bridger was a once in a lifetime thing, and I waited for the moment where I’d wake up and realize I’d dreamed the entire thing.
Despite being exhausted, when Asher called me early this morning and asked me to meet her at our favorite coffee shop one town over in Hope Valley, I’d jumped at the chance to distract myself. If I didn’t find a way to fill the hours, I knew I’d sit around all day long, replaying the night before and overanalyzing everything he’d told me, and I really didn’t want to be that girl who picked every single word apart, looking for hidden meanings in them.
Asher spotted me as I stepped onto the sidewalk and smiled so big it looked like it might split her face right in half as she waved. I wasn’t sure what she was up to, but whatever it was, it sure as hell had her in a fantastic mood.
“Hey.” She was already on her feet by the time I pushed through the door into the busy coffee shop. “I got you your usual,” she said, pulling me into a quick embrace.
I planted a kiss to her cheek before we broke apart and took the seat across from her. “Thanks. I really need it.”
Her cocked her head to the side, her gaze scrutinizing. “Everything okay?”
I waved her off over the rim of my cup as I took a heathy sip. “All good. Just didn’t sleep very well.” I sat the cup down and turned all my attention on her, noticing her energy. She was practically vibrating in her seat. “What’s going on? Why the early morning summons?”
“Well...” that joker smile returned, and she thrust her left hand across the table so fast she almost knocked my coffee over and whacked me in my face.
I jerked back with a start right before my eyes trained on the diamond sitting dead center at the base of her ring finger.
I sucked in a sharp gasp, my exhaustion all but forgotten as I grabbed hold of her hand and yanked it even closer. “Oh my god! Is this—did he—are you—?”
She nodded, her eyes growing bright. “Yes, yes, and yes! Owen proposed last night. We’re getting married!”
I let out a cry that drew the attention of everyone around us, but I didn’t care. My best friend was getting married to the love of her life! I couldn’t think of the last time I’d ever been so happy.
Still holding her hand, I shot out of my chair and pulled her up to her feet so I could wrap her in a long, bone-creaking hug. “I’m so happy for you,” I said with a sniffle, happy tears flooding my eyes as the two of us stood in the middle of Muffin Top, clinging to each other and swaying side to side.
I don’t know how long we stood like that before finally breaking apart and returning to our seats.
