Page 4 of Saving Sam

After the toasts and festivities of the reception, everyone goes out onto the dance floor.

“Would you like to dance?” I ask in a gruff voice, whispering in her ear, causing her to jump and whirl from the unexpectedness.

She gives me her blinding smile, then says, “Sure.”

I lead her onto the dance floor, pulling her tightly into my arms, and we dance a few slow songs. She rests her head on my chest, and even though she’s wearing heels, I’m still taller than her. She feels so perfect in my arms, as I sway us both on the dance floor. When the slow songs end, I excuse myself before I do something foolish, like carry her off to a back room. I watch as Alisa pulls Samantha to the dance floor, to do the cupid shuffle.

After a couple more hours, I can tell Samantha is exhausted, but she keeps going for her sister. Luckily for me, the bride and groom take this moment to tell everyone goodbye, get in the car, and drive off to begin their honeymoon.

“Do you need a ride back to Alisa’s?” I lean down and ask, standing behind her.

“That would be great, if you wouldn’t mind?”

“I don’t mind at all,” I tell her. “Come on, let’s get you home and off those feet.”

When we get to Alisa’s place, I walk Samantha to the door, I look down at her, as she puts the key in the lock, then turns to me, “Thank you for bringing me home.”

“You don’t need to thank me. I am always happy to help.”

I pull her in for a hug, then she lifts her head to look into my eyes, and before I can keep myself in check, I slam my lips onto hers, and an electrical current rushes straight to my cock. She must feel it too, because she gasps, allowing me to slide my tongue into her mouth.

I deepen the kiss, while she entwines her fingers into my hair and pulls. My body reacts as she presses her body up against mine more, rubbing on me.

I pull back and see how swollen her lips are, but I regain my senses before I allow this to go further, “I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have done that. I need to go,” I say, seeing the hurt in her eyes, before I turn and walk away, allowing reality to slam into me.I just kissed my best friend's daughter.

Present

It’s beena year since I’ve seen and kissed Samantha. I can’t get her out of my head. I don’t know what possessed me to kiss her. She’s my best friend’s daughter, and twenty years younger than me, but every time I held her in my arms that night, my body reacted.

You would think a forty-six-year-old man would know better and be able to control his hormones, but standing by the door, after watching her at the wedding all night, then having her look up at me with her gorgeous blue eyes, I couldn’t stop myself from kissing her.

I can still feel her body pressed up against me as our tongues battled and tasted each other. She tasted so divine, I wanted more. Had I not walked away, there was a chance, I would have fucked her, and as much as I want her with every ache in my body, the woman is so young and stubborn.

I know from talking to the Chief at her current firehouse, she pushes herself to prove she is worthy of being a firefighter, already earning the respect of the leadership. The guys treat her like a little sister but sometimes feel like she is trying to outdo them. She doesn’t realize it though; in her mind, she has to be perfect to prove her worth.

“Hey, Chief,” Lieutenant Colin Clark says as he opens the door.

“What’s going on Colin?”

“I’m taking the guys for a grocery run, is there anything specific you want us to pick up for you?”

“Nah, I trust you all to get something good. Who's doing the cooking tonight?”

“Probie Strahn.”

I nod, “Tell him to be mindful of the salt this time.”

Colin laughs, “Roger, Chief. We’ll be on the radio.”

I nod, and he leaves my office.

I continue going over the report my crew wrote up on the fire the other day, when my phone rings and I answer, “Chief Yates.”

“Chief, it’s Fire Inspector Fairview, I have a report for you from last month's fire.”

“Perfect, I was just going over the notes my firefighter’s made. I’ll send Jennifer over to pick it up.”
