He twirls me around and around, pulls me back into him, and I want to glance over my shoulder to make sure Kade is watching us. To see if he’s angry.

Because I know he will be.

He wants to wring my neck just as much as he wants to fuck my brains out.

The feeling is definitely – annoyingly – mutual.

We turn, No Name’s back to the bar, my hands on his chest, and I can see Kade over his shoulder given how short his target is. He’s sipping on his drink with a blank expression, but his eyes don’t leave mine.

He tips his glass in my direction with a slight nod.

Anger spikes, and when No Name plants a kiss on my lips, I don’t push him away.

Fuck Kade. He’s treated me like shit and spoken down to me. I might have been on my knees and riding his face not long ago, but I’m doing exactly what he wants.

I’m forgetting what happened.

I feel absolutely nothing as No Name presses his lips to mine – sloppier now – and cups my ass firmly.

I need to get this guy out of here before he ends up dead. Not for No Name’s benefit, but so Kade doesn’t have yet another death under his belt.

When the unfamiliar tongue tries to nudge through my lips, I don’t allow him entrance; I pull away and continue dancing with him.

I hope Kade is fuming.

My immaturity levels have risen to the high heavens by now.

Kade’s drink is gone – now he’s leaning against the bar with his hands and glaring at me. Just to be extra mature, I give him the middle finger, whispering to No Name to take me out back.

I know Kade can read the words on my lips.

No Name’s hand clutches mine, and he drags me off the dance floor, through the narrow corridor where the bathrooms are and out the back entrance into a dark, wet alleyway. There’s barely any light, and we’re closed in by high walls. I instantly feel uncomfortable and cold.

I don’t go home with random men. It took me everything to join Tinder after what happened to me. This is purely to save his life.

“You need to leave,” I say as he clicks the door closed.

He doesn’t listen, pulling me into him and caressing my face with both hands. “But the fun only just started, beautiful.”

I keep myself calm as I push against his chest, but he doesn’t move an inch from the hold he has on me. “Let go of me.”

He crushes his mouth to mine painfully, and panic sets in. I bite on his lip, hard, until I taste copper then stomp on his shoe with my heel.

No Name wipes blood from his lip, eyes wide, before lunging. “You fucking teasing—”

A fist flying into his face cuts him off, launching him into the wall with such force, I’m surprised his skull isn’t cracked open.

Kade takes my chin as he searches me for any injuries. His thumb swipes the blood from my lip. “Did he hit you?”

I pull my jaw free. “No. It’s his blood.”

“What the fuck are you playing at? What part ofhe’s dangerousdo you not understand?”

He smashes his elbow into No Name’s face when he throws himself towards Kade in a weak attack. No Name drops to the ground again, groaning and holding his excessively bleeding mouth.

My ex points at him. “Stay the fuck down. I’ll deal with you in a minute.”

I cross my arms. “I told you what I was doing,” I state. A huge part of me wants to run back into the club to get away from No Name, away from his horrid advances, but I also don’t want Kade to kill someone else. “Just let him go.”
