Then he heard her stir. “Sarko?”
He turned back to face her, his heart racing. “Yes?”
“Come here.”
He obeyed, moving to stand at the foot of the bed. She was sitting up now, her hair mussed from sleep.
“What is it?” he asked, his voice husky with desire.
She bit her lip, her eyes meeting his. “I can’t stop thinking about you.”
He moved closer, his body responding to her words. “I can’t stop thinking about you either.”
She reached out and took his hand, pulling him down onto the bed beside her. He went willingly, his pulse racing.
“We could get to know each other better, but...”
“But what?” he prompted.
“I feel like I already know what I need to, at least enough to begin the mating part of our bargain.” She gave him a tentative smile. “I’m comfortable knowing you’ll be an excellent father if I happen to conceive.”
He lifted her hand. “Do you want me though? Not just to fulfill your contract?” His breath caught in his throat as he awaited her answer.
She nodded, her eyes dark with desire. “Yes.”
Chapter Three
SHE LEANED FORWARD tentatively, feeling shy and nervous. She was inexperienced and had never even really experienced passion before, let alone for a Tark, but Sarko was handsome and kind, and she could trust him.
He met her halfway, pressing his lips against hers in a gentle kiss. His lips were soft and warm, and she felt the heat of his body as he pulled her closer. She melted into his embrace, her hands exploring the hard planes of his chest and shoulders. He was muscular and strong, and she sensed the power in his arms as they wrapped around her. His wings fluttered but didn’t expand.
Their kisses grew more passionate, and she moaned softly as his tongue slid between her parted lips. She tasted the sweetness of his mouth, and she wanted more.
She ran her hands through his thick white hair, tugging gently as she deepened the kiss. He growled low in his throat, a sound of pure male satisfaction.
He broke the kiss, his golden eyes burning with desire. “You’re so beautiful. I want you so badly.”
