My fingers tightened around her neck as I thrust into her.

Wynter trembled from her release, triggering my own. Damn, she felt so good. My balls tightened, my orgasm building as her walls clenched my shaft. I let out a groan while my body stiffened, my fingers wrapped her hair even tighter.

I eased out of her, then hit the little button on her cuffs and set her free. We collapsed on the bed, grinning at each other.

“I love you.” I kissed the tip of her nose.

“You too, baby.” Wynter snuggled up to my side, right where she belonged.

Wynter

Four Months Later

Istood in the hall with Mom and Janine. We stared at Ky’s door, our hearts heavy with the loss and horror that he’d lived through. Although Mom’s guilt had subsided a little, I knew Ky’s past would always haunt all of us.

“Are you ready?” I asked, looking at my family.

“No, but it’s time to do this.” Mom squeezed my hand.

“Janine?” I glanced past Mom to my sister.

She took a deep breath before she spoke. “I’m ready.”

I understood how hard it would be for Mom and Janine to walk into Ky’s room for the first time since the shooting because I’d already done it. After the truth had come out, I talked to Janine about what to do with Ky’s room. It was important to leave some space for him, but it was also imperative to heal as much as possible, and staring at his closed door every day wasn’t the best way to do it.

I turned the doorknob and readied myself.I love you, Ky.The musty air tickled my nose, and I sneezed. Strolling over to the window, I opened it wide. It was a gorgeous spring day and his room desperately needed sunshine and fresh air.

A cry escaped Mom as she and Janine stood in the middle of the floor and looked around. I assumed they were overwhelmed with memories—good and bad.

“He’ll always be with us. I have to believe that.” At times, I felt Ky’s presence so strongly, I thought he was physically next to me. The only person I’d told was Quinn in case he had felt Bell’s presence too. He had, and it gave us something special to share that others wouldn’t understand.

“What do you want to keep, Mom? I would love at least one of Ky’s posters.”

“I want one that you don’t take. I don’t care which one since I didn’t like his music, but just something of his.” She swiped at the tears running down her cheeks. “I’ve not allowed myself to admit how much I miss him until after the journal and videos were released to the world.”

“Quinn and I worked hard to have his and Bell’s story heard. I think it’s helped some people heal, or at least start.”

“You and Quinn make an amazing team, Wynter. I’m really proud of you both.” Mom sorted through Ky’s clothes in the closet, taking a few of his shirts and tennis shoes to keep. “Girls, take what you want, then I’ll box the rest up to donate.”

Since there wasn’t much left after the police confiscated most of his belongings, it didn’t take us long to pick out a few of our favorite things to keep.

The doorbell rang, and I smiled at Mom and Janine. “They’re here.”

Janine and I raced down the stairs, our giggles filling the house for the first time in years. I paused before I answered, then spun on my heel. “No drooling.” I winked at her, then flung the door open. I gawked, unable to speak as my hand flew over my mouth.

“Quinn?”

“Hey, beautiful.” He kissed me.

“Holy shit.” Janine poked her head around me, taking in the sight on our porch.

“Kane? Remington? Anderson?” I asked in shock. “You came too?”

“Ladies.” Remington bowed. “We’re at your service.”

Janine giggled, eyeing him. I discreetly nudged her in the side.
