“I appreciate it. I’ll see what else I can find out, but no way in hell am I talking to Wynter about Bell right now. Maybe someday, but not now.”

“Let me know if I can help. I’ve gotta shower and get home to Brie. We’re meeting our families for dinner.”

A twinge of jealousy stabbed me in the chest. I wish I had a family. Other than Brody, I had no one. “Have a good night.”

I watched as Kane jogged off and left me alone with my thoughts. Wrestling with the idea of trusting Adam or digging into Wynter’s past on my own, I decided not to make a decision just yet. There was something I had to do first.

Being king had its perks. I pulled the skull mask into place and tested the voice disguiser, then adjusted the collar of my black shirt, hiding the Red Dragon from view. I turned away from the mirror in my office, ready to play with my prey.

A knock sounded at the door, and when it cracked open, Anderson’s head poked in. “Ready?”

“Yeah.”

“Have fun.” He shot me a grin before he disappeared.

I shoved my hands in my slacks pockets and adjusted my hard-on. The anticipation made my pulse skip a beat, and I strolled into the hall, closing and locking the door behind me. My black dress shoes slapped against the concrete floor as I walked to the room where Wynter waited for me.

I placed my thumb against the fingerprint reader until the sound of the lock popping open echoed through the corridor. Quietly, I entered. It took a moment for my eyes to adjust to the dim light, but there she was.

Her naked body trembled as she huddled in the corner of the cage blindfolded, her wrists bound with rope. She was completely helpless and dependent on … me. The twisted reality made my cock throb.

“Wynter.”

Her head popped up as her teeth chattered. I’d been a real asshole and turned on the air conditioner.

She shuddered. “Who are you?”

I walked to the front of the container and reached through the bars. “The Red Dragon.”

Her shoulders visibly slumped. Relaxing was her first mistake.

“Try to get comfortable. You’re going to be here for a while.” My chuckle filled the room— I loved the fact that I was messing with her mind. I cupped her breast and roughly pinched her hard nipple. “Did you miss me?”

“Y-yes.”

“Have you been good for me, Wynter? Have you been with anyone else? Girls or guys?” I had no idea if she was bisexual or not, but she needed to understand who she served.

She licked her lips. “Only you.”

I sat on the chair and leaned forward, studying her. From what I understood, she hadn’t realized the Black Widow Society was behind it when my guys kidnapped her and brought her here. She had probably been fucking terrified. I smiled beneath my mask. Excellent. She needed to feel what Bell had.

Terror and pain.

The room grew silent. My heart beat loudly in my ears as I mentally sifted through the information in the file. After thinking it over, I understood what Kane had said, but I didn’t think Adam would pull any shit with me about Wynter. Why would he? We had both lost Bell. The loss had made him even meaner, but he had no reason to lie to me about her.

I reached for the key to the cage near the chair leg, then stood. Unlocking the door, I tugged her out by her arm and onto the floor. I dug my fingers into her bicep until she whimpered.

“You’ve been holding out on me, Wynter. I saw the pictures of you online.”

I watched as the color drained from her pretty face.

“Tell me why. Did you like being a little slut getting fucked for the camera?” I touched her and trailed my fingertips down her soft cheek.

She squirmed, and I tightened my grip. “Yeah, but I needed the money too.”

Her answer caught me unprepared, and I frowned beneath the mask.
