I shook my head. “No, he was actually very kind and respectful, and after I found out why he did what he did, I was thankful.” I grinned. “Honestly, two years ago, I never thought I would ever say anything that nice about him.”

“Crazy he’s alive.” He rolled his tongue between his lips. “I just don’t even know what to think. I’m happy, of course, but…fuck.”

Nodding, I cupped my hand on his chiseled jaw. “It’s expected that you feel that way. Just remember, you’ve been given a second chance to repair your relationship with him. We all have. Please don’t be…you,” I waved a hand at him, “and ruin it. He truly saved me. The cut on my head was from being knocked down while he was fighting Felipe. If it wasn’t for Marco, I might be dead by now.” I stood on my toes, kissing him on the lips before I continued. “I shouldn’t have gone to the bathroom alone, but who knows what would have happened to everyone in that ballroom if I hadn’t.”

Pursing his lips, he fought back a smile. “You’re incredible. Only you would say something so selfless.”

“That’s not true.” I exhaled. “Since we met, you’ve put me first.”

He gazed down at my stomach and placed his hand on it. “And now, we need to make sure this one is okay.”

“Tomorrow, please.” I rested my palm on his. “I’m not bleeding or crampy. I know it’s important, and I want to know more than anything.”

“You’re scared to know, I can tell.”

I shook my head. “Right now, I just want to shower and sit in your meeting downstairs. I feel okay.”

“Though I appreciate your enthusiasm about it, I need you to let the guys and I handle this. I’m done letting danger find you. I just got you back. I’m ending this so we can live in peace.”

KNOCK. KNOCK.

“Just a second!” Valentino called out. “I’m having the doctor come here to examine you as soon as possible. I’m not waiting until tomorrow. With the public in a frenzy, I’m not taking any chances with you being seen out there right now. Everyone’s looking for you.”

“What are you going to do about that?”

He pressed his lips to my forehead and cupped his hands on my backside. “Let me handle that. Go shower and meet me downstairs for a minute.”

“Are you going to remove your hands?”

Crashing his lips into mine, he led me backwards to the ottoman in the middle of the closet. He squeezed my rear, pulling me tighter against him. I felt his hardness growing against me as his tongue commanded dominance over mine.

Moaning against his lips, I pressed my hands to his chest. “Someone is outside the door waiting for you.”

“How long they wait depends on how fast you cum.”

He slipped his shirt over his head, dropping it next to him on the floor. Laying me back on the ottoman, he spread my legs. My attempt to control my breathing was useless as he freed his cock from his pants and lined it up with my entrance. He paused, raking his gaze over my body.

“What?” I exhaled.

“We should wait until the doctor sees you before we do this.” Sighing, he tucked himself away. “I want to, but I know it’s not the responsible thing to do.”

KNOCK. KNOCK. Valentino!Joseph yelled from the other side of the bedroom door.

“Ugh!” I pushed up onto my elbows.

Reaching out, he took my hand in his and pulled me to my feet. “Go shower.” He scooped his shirt up off the floor and pulled it over his head. “I’ll call the doctor, then I’ll be in the office.”

“Tease,” I mumbled.

Returned

“Oh my God!” Tanya leapt off the couch in Valentino’s office, dashing to me and throwing her arms around me. “I’m so happy you’re back! Are you okay?”

“Heyyy, I’m okay.”

She took a step back, looking at my stomach. “And the baby?”

“Okay, I’m pretty sure,” I smiled, “but the doctor is coming to be sure.”
