“You must be Colbie. I’m Dylan.”

“Yes, that’s me. It’s nice to meet you.”

“You too. No need to be nervous,” Dylan told her. “We have no issues with Dallis dating you. I honestly didn’t think he’d be able to win you over, but it seems I was wrong.”

“I had my work cut out for me,” Dallis threw in.

“I guess that’s a consolation prize,” Dylan responded with a smirk. “Dallis, why don’t you show Colbie around, help her calm down a bit more, and then take her into the kitchen to meet your mom.” With that, Dylan nodded to the two and headed off.

“See, not so bad,” Dallis told her when his father was out of view.

Colbie turned and looked at him. “Yeah, you’re right. So, why don’t you show me around.”

“The only thing Iwantto show you is my bedroom,” Dallis told her, pulling her into him.

She rolled her eyes at him. “Keep it in your pants.”

He leaned down and pecked her lips. “I will...for now.”

Dallis took her hand, and Colbie allowed him to lead her around the house, showing her everything and then going out of the backdoor into the backyard. He then led her back into the house and ended the tour in the kitchen, where his mother was. She had to admit that their home made her house look like a little shoebox.

“You must be Colbie!” his mother greeted her as they walked in. The older woman came over as she wiped her hands on a towel before pulling her into a hug. “Dallis has told me so much about you.”

“I hope they were all good things.”

“Of course they were.” His mother responded. “I’m Joyce,” she then told Colbie after releasing her.

“It’s nice to meet you. Dallis has also told me a lot about you,” Colbie responded. It wasn’t a lie. Dallis did talk about his parents and his aunts and uncles to her.

“Well, the food is almost done. Should only be about another twenty minutes, and then we’ll be ready to eat.”

“Is there anything I can help with? I wanted to make something, but Dallis said you insisted that I didn’t.”

“He’s right. I just wanted you to bring your appetite. I can also manage the rest of dinner. Has Dallis shown you everything around the house?”

Colbie nodded. “Yes. He just finished giving me the tour.”

“Actually,” Dallis threw in. “We haven’t seen everything. I’ll show her the rest while we wait for the food to finish.”

With that, Dallis took her hand and led her out of the kitchen. She had a vague idea of where he was taking her. Once they reached the top of the steps, he opened a door, and they walked into what she knew was his bedroom. Her suspicions were proven correct.

“And I needed to see this why?” she questioned.

“Because this is where the magic happens,” he told her with a smirk as she watched him take a seat in his desk chair. She raised a brow at him before rolling her eyes.

Colbie decided that he had brought her to his room, so she might as well look around. He had quite a few pictures in his room. Some with his parents, of him and another teenage boy she saw him with sometimes, and another she’d seen with him when Will followed her. He had some with a teenage girl she had seen around the school.

“That’s my cousin, Callie,” he told her, and Colbie jumped slightly because she hadn’t heard him approach her.

“She’s one of the children of the uncles and aunts you’ve been telling me about?”

“No,” he replied, resting his chin on her shoulder. “Those would be on my dad’s side. She’s my cousin on my mom’s side.”

Colbie nodded, and a minute later, Dallis was turning her in his arms.

“So, we have another fifteen minutes to kill before we have to be back downstairs.” She watched as he bit his lower lip, and she glared at him. “I wonder how we should kill that time,” he added.

She shook her head at him. “No,” she stated, attempting to step out of his hold. “We are not doingthat.”
