She snatched it from his grasp. “Dallis, stop this, or I’m going to have to report you to the principal,” she told him.

He paused for a moment, considering it. Colbie could tell the principal. He would get suspended, but it would be worth it. Besides, his parents knew he was pursuing his teacher so he wouldn’t get in trouble with them.

Retaking her chin in his hand, he gripped it firmly, leaning down. “It’s worth whatever punishment I get,” he stated before pressing his lips to hers.

Dallis was in paradise. He had imagined how her lips would feel, but his imagination hadn’t done them justice. When he ran his tongue along her lower lip, asking for entrance, she seemed to return to reality. She placed her hands on his chest and pushed him away.

“What are you doing?!”

“Don’t tell me a beautiful woman like yourself hasn’t been kissed.”

“You need to stop. I’m your teacher,” she told him. He shrugged, unfazed. “This will not happen again,” she then informed him.

Dallis smiled at her. “I doubt that.” Before she could respond, he turned and opened the door, exiting the classroom.

He mildly wondered if she really would tell the principal on him. He could always deny it, but he wouldn’t do that to her, and he had never been one to deny something he knew he had done. He made his way outside to his car and headed home.

Pulling into his driveway, he got out and headed inside. He was about to walk past the living room when he saw his mom watching television.

“Hey, Mom,” he greeted, sitting beside her.

“Hey, honey. How was school?”

“It was good, but I may be getting suspended.”

This made his mother turn her attention to him. “What did you do, Dal?”

“I may or may not have kissed my history teacher.”

“So, you did,” his mother stated. “I’m taking it she didn’t respond the way you thought she would.”

“Yes and no. I mean, she let me, until I tried to deepen it. It’s like she snapped back to reality. Before that, she told me she would tell the principal. I’m not sure if she will or not.”

His mother sighed. “I can’t tell you that you shouldn’t be pursuing her because that would make me a hypocrite. I will tell you that you probably shouldn’t do it at school. You’re running the risk of her losing her job. She has to protect that.”

Dallis hadn’t thought of that. He just wanted to make his move. He’d been waiting since he saw her during schedule pick up and meet the teacher the first week in August. His mother was right, though. If he was going to go after her, he needed to do it off school grounds.

Leaning over, he kissed his mother on the cheek. “Thanks, Mom.”

“You’re welcome,” she responded before turning her attention back toward the television.

Dallis took his backpack and headed up the stairs to his room. He decided to do the homework he hadn’t felt like doing during study period.

Once finished with his homework, he sat thinking about when he would make his third move and where he would do it. He clearly couldn’t do it at school. At least not when it was in session. He didn’t know where she lived, but he knew it would be easy enough for him to find out.

Taking out his phone, he sent a text to his dad, telling him he needed his help and what he wanted. He hadn’t seen his car when he came home, so Dallis figured he was probably at work.

Getting up from his desk, he slid his phone into his pocket and headed back down the stairs. He could hear his mom moving around in the kitchen and knew she was probably cooking. He decided to help her while waiting for his dad to get back to him with the requested information.

Dallis was walking down the hall with Hayden, headed to first period, when a weight suddenly settled on his back, arms wrapping around his neck, legs going around his waist. It sent him forward a step before he balanced himself. Though he didn’t have to look to know who it was, he glanced over his shoulder to be greeted by a smiling face. That often held a smile far too wide to be innocent.

“Callie, why do you always do that?” he questioned. Making sure he had his binder and textbook securely in his hands before supporting her legs.

“Because I’m lazy and don’t like to walk,” she told him, and though he wasn’t looking at her anymore, he could hear the pout in her voice.

She’d been doing this as long as he could remember, running up behind him and jumping onto his back. He had told her at one point if she kept doing it, he would drop her on her ass. She hadn’t believed him until he had done it. So, from that moment on, she latched on like a spider monkey, holding herself up.
