She glanced over at her husband, cueing him in.
“We haven’t been able to find anything in our research or from the dirty cops we handled. Remmy, what have you got?” Jagger asked as his wife climbed into his lap, and he wrapped his arms around her to cuddle her.
She was pregnant, and he liked the way she glowed. He also needed to talk to her about when they were first starting out. That he could have had the Major earlier…
Then again, he wouldn’t have survived her assault in Columbia, and Dianna wouldn’t be here if they hooked up before him and Roxy.
Oh, well.
Maybe fate knew best.
Remmy took over.
“Well, I have found something out, and I may have some interesting news,” he said.
That had their attention.
“From?” Maura asked.
“Calyx.”
Well, then it would likely be legit. The woman was trusted.
He explained.
“Word in The Underground is that the Russians are about to land here. Well, the first part of the group. The boss? Alexsandr Dominik. Does that sound familiar?” he asked.
Holy shit.
Did it ever?
Jagger raised a brow.
“Is this Alex Dominik related to General Viktor Dominik?” he asked. “A KGB general who was ruthless and a murdering SOB?”
He nodded.
“Oh, well, you’ve heard of him. I’m sure since you were in the military, you know what he was capable of.”
Maura sighed.
Oh, boy.
This wouldn’t be a coincidence.
She’d bet on it.
“Yeah, we’ve heard of him. Know what I hate even more than really horrible Russian generals? When their sons pop up years later to continue the game. I’m getting old and would like to retire at some point.”
Jagger didn’t think his wife was old. She was sexy and fertile. That put her in her prime.
As for this asshole…
They likely had a problem.
“So you’ve crossed paths?” Rogue asked, curiously as he made room on his lap for Jinx. When she sat, he mimicked what Jagger was doing.
Why?
