Grumbling, I stomped into the dark space with my gun slung on my shoulder and glanced down at the tracker. I tried to figure out if any of the shapes resembled the guys more than the others, but they were just dots in the end. Fucking dots!
Deciding to outsmart them, adrenaline rushed through me as I headed to the farthest dot. I’d show them I wasn’t one to receive consequences. They’d be sorry!
I could hear the others as they giggled or screamed every now and then, but the music playing covered up a lot of it. Ducking around corners, I stayed in the shadows and avoided the colors of the different hideouts when I neared them. My dot grew closer to the middle one, my heart racing fast as I crept along the course. I hadn’t seen or heard anyone in a while now. Carefully, I peered around the first hideout as I held my breath.
“Anything?” a voice whispered through what sounded like a walkie-talkie. It was too low for me to make out who.
“Not yet. Do you think she got lost?” another voice asked. This one sounded like Dax.
“Nope. If anything, she’s waiting for us to step out so she can shoot first. I know she won’t like that her mission is a hunt, not a rescue.” Fletcher chuckled, his voice clear as day in front of me.
Smirking to myself, I lifted the gun and pulled the trigger, a blue dot appearing on the vest in front of me. Fletcher gasped, spinning a second too late as I exited my hiding spot. He lifted the walkie-talkie, but I wiggled my finger and motioned for him to hand it over.
“Fine. But don’t you want your prize first?” he teased.
“I dunno. If it’s more letters, I don’t understand, then no.”
“I promise you’ll like it, Baby Shaw. Come here.”
He handed me the walkie-talkie first, and I clipped it on my vest and turned down the volume. Fletcher took my gun and placed it next to his on a board. Bracing my hands on my hips, I quirked an eyebrow as I waited for my prize. He chuckled at my stance, pulling me into his arms and kissing me so efficiently that I forgot my name for a second.
His tongue swirled with mine, owning it as he rolled it around my mouth, sucking it into his. If a kiss could steal your soul, this one would be it. I had to cling to him in order to stay standing, my legs wobbly when he drew back.
“The next kiss will be on your other lips. Find your next victim, baby.”
He smacked my ass and handed me back my gun, pushing me in a direction. I was so dazed that I stumbled a few steps before remembering I had a mission. Though, I suddenly wasn’t as upset about their game. If it ended with me feeling that way, I could be on board with this event.
Looking at the other two dots, I debated which one to go to next. Ultimately, I closed my eyes and picked, landing on the right side. Keeping to my same procedure, I took small and slow steps as I stayed hidden, dropping to crawl in a few spots out in the open. I could hear them on the walkie-talkie, but I didn’t want to risk them hearing me coming, so I kept it low; only a slight hum could be heard over the music.
Taking a deep breath when I neared the next dot, I waited until my heart slowed before I crawled forward. I’d gone above the dot, hoping to catch him off guard. Below me, I could see a head of golden hair. Dax. I’d found Dax.
Counting to three in my head, I pulled the trigger and jumped down as he spun around. Dax looked shocked at the paint on his chest but smiled wide when he spotted me.
“About time, Petal. I was worried you wouldn’t make it. Question. Which one am I on your quest?”
“Number two.”
“Good,” he purred, his voice a deep gravel.
He smiled and dragged me nearer, lifting me on a barrel before I could protest. The zipper of my paint overalls was pulled down, exposing the vest, t-shirt, and leggings I’d been wearing earlier.
“Sorry for what I’m about to do, but I promise to make it worth it.”
“Huh?” I asked, just as Dax ripped the seam of my crotch and exposed my panties to him. Gasping, I looked down at him in shock as he dropped to his knees and speared me with his tongue in two seconds flat. I couldn’t find it in me to protest as pleasure raced up my body. Dax was far too good at this to ever complain. The atmosphere and knowledge that someone could hear or find us made me so wet that I came quicker than ever.
Dax licked me clean before standing back up, zipping me, and pulling me off the barrel. He, too, smacked my butt and sent me on my way before I even knew what was happening. I stumbled a few steps again before ducking back into the shadows. Reed’s position wasn’t too far away, and I wondered if he knew I was coming by now. I still had no clue what the hint was, but I had a good guess it involved something I’d enjoy a lot.
Reed’s structure was off the ground, and the only way to access it was a ladder that had to be lowered. I spotted a platform across from his; one I could climb and make a shot from. It was the best I could hope for, anyway.
Climbing was challenging since I stopped every few seconds to ensure he didn’t hear me. I could still hear a few people around as they found others, their laughter echoing off the walls. The music reverberated everywhere else, a deafening sound in my ears.
When I made it to the top, I was out of breath. Thankfully, I only had to crawl forward since I needed to stay flat so he wouldn’t see me. Reed’s head bobbed into view for a second and then out again. He was pacing. Lining up the shot with the scope, I waited until he crossed into my view and pulled the trigger. I wasn’t sure if I made contact at first, but the hiss that followed with the crackling of the walkie was all the proof I needed.
“Come up,” he said, dropping the ladder down. Sliding down the pole off to the side, I eagerly climbed the ladder up to Reed. He reached down and grabbed my arm, lifting me the rest of the way into the structure.
“Please tell me I’m the last one,” he groaned, nipping my lips.
“You are. What did it mean?” I asked, slightly breathless.
