“I wanted to see how things were going!”

“Come in, come in.” I move out of the doorway and wave my hand for her to come in.

“So, how are things?” She asks once she sits on the couch. At the same time Lio comes out of the bedroom while putting his shirt on. She winks at me.

“I guess they are going really well.” She smirks at me, I roll my eyes.

“Things are good.” I blush.

“I can see that.” She wiggles her brows at me when Lio turns his back.

“Shut up.” I whisper and laugh.

“How have things been for you Kelly?” Lio asks as he starts the coffee.

“Um, that’s kind of why I’m here.” She sucks in a breath.

“What do you mean?” I swallow.

“I know he found you.” She looks down at the ground.

“How do you know?” Lio asks.

“Because before I left my job I overheard him talking to a private investigator. I don’t know how they found you but he did. He’s angry Charlie, more than angry. I stayed for as long as I could at the job just so I could keep an eye on things but I couldn’t anymore. I didn’t feel safe anymore.” She shakes her head.

“Did he hurt you?” Lio’s jaw tenses.

“No but I thought he was going to. He was angry at me for helping you, when I wouldn’t give any information on where you went he lashed out. So I came to warn you.” She wipes a tear from her cheek.

“He emailed me a few days ago.” I finally say.

“What did he say?” She shoots her eyes to mine.

“That I was hard to track down.” I swallow hard.

“He had an idea that you were with Lio from the start. I don’t know how he knew but he did. He kept asking about him to me but I kept playing stupid and acting like I didn’t know who you were.”

“Why would he think after all this time that Lio was helping me? I hadn’t spoken to him in two years before you called him.” I let out a frustrated sigh.

“I don’t know. I mean I had never even heard of him until you gave me his number. He never talked about him to me at least. When he was talking to the private investigator I heard him mention your name, I wanted to text you and warn you but I didn’t want him to somehow get into my messages ya know? So once I quit I packed a bag and drove straight here.” She sucks in a breath.

“We appreciate you coming to tell us.” Lio puts his hand on her shoulder.

“Of course, I had to. I was a part of this whole messed up shit show and I wanted to make sure you guys were prepared. I know men like Jett and when he says he’s going to find you he means it. And it won’t be good after he does. He thinks he’s untouchable and will do anything to get you back, even if you don’t want to go. He will try to get you, Charlie. And it will not end good.” She shakes her head.

“I know and we are getting prepared. Since the cops won’t help us, we started learning self defense with Brad at the gym and keeping record of everything. I put security cameras all over the warehouse and I hired security.” Lio tells her.

“Good, that’s good.” She nods along.

“Speaking of Brad, we have a lesson with him in a half hour. You should come, Kelly.” Lio smiles at her.

“Why?” She lets out a loud laugh.

“Because you should be prepared to, once he finds out you helped he will come after you next.” Lio’s tone is serious.

“I didn’t think about it like that, you’re right. Let me change into something a little more workoutish.” She giggles before grabbing her bag off the floor.

“The bathroom is through the bedroom on the right.” Lio points to the bedroom doors.
