“The only thing that could make it better would be if it was one of my brothers fucking you there, right?” He sucks hard on my clit, making me whimper. “Maybe next time one of them takes your ass, I’ll eat your sweet little pussy just like this. Let you soak my chin with your slick. You want that?”

“Uh huh.” I nod, my fingers tightening on his hair. “Please, Knox, don’t stop. Don’t stop, I’m gonna—”

He doesn’t stop, and I don’t have time to say come before I’m doing it, the orgasm racing through me. I grind against his face, clenching down on his fingers with both my ass and my pussy, quaking and shaking my way through it.

He laps at me until I finally stop gasping for breath, then slides his fingers out and stands up. He’s so tall that he has to lean down to kiss me, and I wrap my arms around his shoulders to keep him there for several long seconds as our tongues dance.

When we separate, he groans. “I’ve gotta go. We have to leave even sooner now. But don’t worry, angel. We’ll finish this later.”

There’s a wicked promise glinting in his eyes, and I know he means it. I chuckle, biting my lower lip. “I’m gonna hold you to that.”

“And I’m gonna hold you right against my mouth so I don’t miss a single drop of your delicious cream as one of my pack mates fucks you.”

I whimper. “It really isn’t fair how turned on you can make me with just a few words.”

He laughs, smoothing down my hair. “Oh, I think it’s plenty fair. I’ll see you at the game.”

“You’d better. I’ll be wearing your jersey.”

I’m going alone to the game tonight. Ben loves coming, and I love bringing him, but he’s too young to be up that late on a regular basis and I don’t want to ruin his sleep schedule, so we’re trying to limit how many games he goes to.

Knox gives me one more kiss and then heads out, and I go to get dressed.

The babysitter arrives, one of the ones that used to watch Ben regularly before I came along. She and Ben really like each other, and I’m glad. As much as I adore Ben, I don’t want us to not have anyone else who can step in on nights like these to give us a break from parenting.

Parenting.

I hope that’s what I am. I really do. I want to be Ben’s parent, and now I’m officially bonded to the Alphas. But he might not see it that way, and I’d never push him. I’ll just have to keep doing my best.

Everything gets settled with the babysitter, I hug and kiss Ben goodbye, then I get into my car.

The purr of the engine as I start her up brings tears to my eyes. She really is fixed, all of her problems taken care of with loving attention by the mechanic. I pat her steering wheel. “I knew you’d make it, baby,” I say out loud, because nobody’s around to hear me and make me feel embarrassed.

This car has been with me through a lot, and I know it’s technically a machine with no feelings, but I’d have hated it if I had to sell her to a junkyard and get a new one. It helps me feel like I’m still me, and like I brought pieces of myself into this new life I’m living.

I pull out of the garage and head for the arena, but I’m halfway into the drive when I realize my hair clips have fallen out.

Shit.

I can go without, I’m sure it’ll be fine, since I can’t turn around and get some and still make it to the game in time. But…

I call Knox and put him on speakerphone. If the Alphas still have spare hair clips on them, I can get one of the employees to let me into the locker room to grab them from their bags, or I can meet Knox at the back entrance and he can hand them over.

Knox picks up. “Everything okay? We’re about to do our warmups.”

“Hey, no, everything’s good, this is so silly but I don’t have any hair stuff on me.” I root through my bag with one hand to double-check, just in case, but I can’t find anything. “Do you think I could call you when I get there and meet you? Or you can give a couple hair clips to an employee and they can meet me at the entrance? Sorry, I just know it’s going to bug me all night…”

“No, it’s no problem. I’ll get someone—”

The rest of what he says is lost as I cross the street on a green light and someone runs into me, t-boning me at full speed.

I spin off the road, crashing into a light pole—

Everything goes black like a snap of the fingers.
