Page 102 of Choosing Their Omega

I may be the Omega of these wonderful men, but I don’t want to be seen as just the stay-at-home wife. I want to contribute and help out too, and not let my partners do all the work.

My Alphas smile at me, proud. “Well, what would you like to do?” Knox asks.

I think about it for a moment. I’m not famous, so I can’t just auction off something I’ve signed or some kind of memorabilia.

I glance over toward Lawson and see he still has the romance novel in his lap. Hmm. I’ve frequented the independent bookshops all over the city, buying books, often secondhand. It was a way to save money and also a way to support local businesses.

A lot of the people who went to this charity would also be rich. They probably didn’t even realize all the fun places in their city that they could visit, and passed over these local independent businesses. This could be a good opportunity to open someone’s eyes and spread the word about these great places to visit, and spark a love of literature in someone.

“Why don’t I offer up a tour of the city’s independent bookstores? I could throw in some out of the way little coffee shops and other places that are great to get something to eat while you read, I know several. People don’t explore their own cities enough, I think it could be fun.”

“I love it,” Cruz says, entirely serious. He doesn’t sound patronizing at all, which relieves me. Not that I thought any of my Alphas would be, but…

“You are biased,” I point out.

“I mean it, though. That’s a great idea. It’s unique and people will be interested.”

“And I’m sure it helps the tour guide is so pretty,” Miles adds.

I roll my eyes, but I can’t help the smile and blush that spread over my face.

Knox takes my chin in his fingers and tilts my face up, kissing me. “It really is wonderful that you’re doing this. The charity auction goes to help various foundations that help kids, including ending child poverty and paying medical bills for sick children. This will really help.”

“I want to help. I’m glad that I can.”

Miles, Cruz, and Lawson each kiss me, and my chest feels warm and full of affection. I don’t know if I’ll ever get over this feeling of being so appreciated by these men, but I know that I don’t want it to stop.

I haven’t been so content in my life before.

The charity auction is a few days later. It’s a dinner, so it starts a bit earlier in the evening, which means that Ben can join us.

He looks so darling in his little suit. We go without a tie, though, since he squirms when I try to put it on him and honestly, I get it. He’s only three. He can go without a tie if he wants to.

“I can’t breathe with it!” Ben protests as I give up on the tie and let his top button on his shirt be undone.

I laugh. “Well, your uncles can breathe just fine in their ties.”

“That’s ’cause they’re big and strong. Their necks are stronger than mine!”

He’s adorable. I resist the urge to ruffle his hair. That would mess it up again and I just got him to sit still long enough to comb it. “Of course. But you still look very handsome in your outfit. Everyone is going to love how you look at the party.”

Ben huffs. “Is there going to be ice cream at the party?”

“I don’t know. But I’m sure there will be something yummy there.”

Ben reaches out and touches the shoulder of the dress I’m wearing. It’s blue, like the color of the jerseys the men wear for their hockey team, and it contrasts wonderfully with my red hair. I’m excited for the Alphas to see it, since I kept it a secret from them.

Shay and I had a fun time shopping to pick it out. I wasn’t sure about getting myself something and told the Alphas that I could just wear the same outfit I’d had for the Omega presentation, no reason to not reuse a perfectly lovely dress, but they insisted on me getting myself something new.

Cruz handed over his sleek black credit card, and Shay was more than happy to drag me around downtown until we found the perfect dress.

“You look so pretty,” Ben whispers to me, like it’s a secret.

“Thank you. We make quite a good-looking pair, I think.”

Ben smiles shyly. “Are people gonna think we’re a family?”
