I wrap my arm around her and cup her chin with my free hand. “I love you. I’m in love with you. And so I’ll always defend you. You’re my Omega.”

“Lawson…”

“I want forever with you. I know the others feel the same. I can’t speak for them, but they’re my pack mates and I know how they feel about you. And if you’re not ready, that’s okay, but I just wanted you to know—”

“Lawson.” Lily’s smiling with tears in her eyes, like she’s so damn happy but also can’t quite believe in the happiness. “I want that too. I want forever. I want to bond with you.”

The words hit me like a blow to the chest, but a good one, the kind where you’re knocked off your feet because you just won the game and your teammate has crashed into you and sent you to the ice. I wrap my arms around her and pick her up to kiss her, swinging her around in a circle and making her laugh.

We’re going to bond.

We’re going to bond with our Omega.

Chapter 36

Lily

We wait for the other three guys to come out for us to tell them. Lawson keeps my hand caught up in his, a huge smile on his face, as the other three men emerge.

Knox immediately has a suspicious look on his face. “What’s got you so cheery?”

It’s an understandable question. Lawson pretty much stormed off the ice at the end of the game, and his expression when he emerged from the locker room wasn’t all that better. Now he’s smiling and holding my hand, so of course they’re a little suspicious.

Lawson nudges me with his elbow and I let go of his hand, stepping forward and sliding my hands up Knox’s chest. “I want to bond with you all. I want to be with you forever.”

Knox’s pupils expand and he inhales sharply, and I feel his chest expand. His scent spikes, warm and deep and home, but also overwhelming, lust, desire.

I look at Cruz and Miles, and I can see similar expressions of shock, joy, and hunger on their faces. I smirk. “You want to go home?”

Cruz clears his throat. His voice, when he speaks, is still a bit hoarse. “You’re damn right we do.”

“Here they are!” Jennifer enters the hallway with Ben. “Sorry, guys, I just couldn’t keep him waiting any longer, he wanted to see you.”

“Of course.” Knox scoops Ben up. “Come on little man, thanks for waiting.”

“Thanks for watching him, Jennifer.” I really just needed to make sure that Lawson was okay.

“Of course.” Jennifer winks at me, then nods at the men, and heads out.

I look at the others. Miles smiles at me warmly. “Let’s go then.”

We head out to the car, get Ben strapped in, and drive home. I don’t think Ben can tell, especially since he’s starting to lose his adrenaline and the sleepiness is setting in, but the car is filled with the tension of emotion and things unsaid and undone.

I can smell all four men, their scents overwhelming, so familiar but now shot through with lust. I want to drink them in, I want to open my mouth and pant, I want to roll over and spread my legs and beg for them.

I’m sure they can smell me too, and my desires. I’m sure that my own lust is just as palpable in my scent as theirs is to me.

Ben, thank goodness, is too young to notice. He has no idea, sweet thing.

We can’t do anything about what we want with a kid in the car, and even if Ben wasn’t here, I don’t think any of us would make a move like usual. This isn’t just about having fun and getting each other off, after all. This is about bonding. We want to do it right.

My stomach flutters as we pull into the driveway at the house. This is really going to happen. It’s going to happen and there’s no turning back.

I don’t want to turn back.

We get out of the car, Miles offering me his hand to help me, and Knox carrying Ben. I’m full of nerves but also excitement. It’s not the kind of nerves that make me sick and make me want to run away. It’s the nerves you get right before stepping on stage for a performance, or meeting someone on a date for the first time, or accepting a promotion. It’s getting something you want. It’s anticipation.

We make our way inside and I help Knox get Ben to bed. He’s practically asleep, the poor kid, and he’s so adorable that it makes my heart swell. We get him to brush his teeth and wash up a little before putting him into pajamas and herding him into his bed.
