“Corbin?”
He smiles and pulls the ring box from his pocket, opening it for me. The look of love on his face causes my breath to get caught in my throat.
I’ve never loved anyone the way I love him. I’m almost scared if I blink, this moment will be over, or I’ll wake up to find it was all a dream.
He leans forward to kiss the back of my hand before pulling back to adjust his shoulders once again. When he goes to speak, the sound of his voice cracking causes any nerves I was feeling to melt away.
“I thought I knew what love was before I met you, but I knew from the first time I saw you, the very first kiss, my life would never be the same. You’ve changed me. You and Huxton have brought a happiness into my life I never knew existed. I promise to spend the rest of my life making you both as happy as you make me.”
Tears flow freely down my face. I lean forward and press a kiss against his lips. When I stand, I brush my finger over his lips, wiping my lipstick off his mouth.
He rubs his lips together, lapping his tongue over them as if savoring it. The sight of him has me shaking my head, giggling.
“Let me finish, woman, then you can love on me all you want.” He grins, flashing me a wink.
I smirk as he pops open the box, and my mouth drops.
“Marry me.”
The sound of those two words sucks the breath out of me.
“Corbin.”
“Spend forever with me. Make me the happiest man in this world. Please.”
Before he has a chance to ask me again, I mutter, “Yes,” before crashing my mouth back on his.
Yes. A hundred times. Every day. Without fail.
Yes.
