“I mean, you did say you didn’t invite me over with ulterior motives. Are you saying you lied, Mr. Briggs?”

He traces the edge of my lip with his thumb, and I suck in a sharp breath, waiting for what he’s about to say.

“If I did, do you think I could make it up to you with snacks?” he whispers.

A smile breaks out across my face, and he saunters toward the kitchen to grab a bag off the counter.

“I grabbed sour Skittles and gummy worms, just for you.”

“Did you know to grab these, or is this pure luck?” I question.

I cross my arms over my chest, narrowing my gaze on him. He bends down to pick up the remote and begins scrolling through the movies. He stops on Halloween, then turns back toward me and nods toward the screen.

“The candy?” he asks absentmindedly.

I nod. “You picked up my favorites. How did you know?”

He looks guilty, like I just caught him in a lie. “I guess it was luck.”

“Liar.”

He presses his lips into a firm line, clicking the button to start the movie, and shrugs. “Okay, so maybe I’ve noticed you eating them a time or two. I picked them up earlier today.”

“You really did plan this, didn’t you?” I snicker. “Who would’ve thought Tysin could be sweet and plan a date?”

He narrows his eyes into a playful glare.

“Well, if you’re trying to get in my pants, it’s working.” I snort.

“All because I invited you over for scary movies with some sour candy?” He stalks toward me, lifting me by my thighs into his arms.

I yelp, wrapping my arms around his neck to hold on, flinging the bag of candy onto the couch.

“Among other reasons.” I shrug.

“Care to share?”

I drag my fingers through his hair, tugging on the strands, and he tilts his chin in the process. He sucks in a low hiss at the sharp pain, his eyes darkening on mine.

He drops down on the couch, still holding me in his arms, and the move leaves me straddling his lap. My hips rock against his, and he grits his teeth.

The familiar melody of the movie plays on low in the background, but neither of us pays any attention.

I drag my hand over his throat, gripping his chin. He tilts his mouth up, and I lean back, evading his mouth.

“Oh, so we’re gonna play it that way, huh?” His large hands cover the curve of my ass, dragging me against him.

“You left me waiting for you to come around for a week. I think you deserve to be teased a little.”

I lift my shirt over my head, leaving me dressed in my swimsuit top and shorts. Reaching for the bag of candy, I tear it open and pop a gummy worm into my mouth.

I roll my eyes closed and hum, sucking on the sour sugar before licking my finger.

Tysin’s gaze burns into me, watching me enjoy the treat.

I reach into the bag for another and brush the sugar over my lips before dragging my tongue over them, sweeping the remnants from my mouth.

Tysin growls, watching me intently. I do the same to him, brushing the candy over his mouth before flicking my tongue over his lips to taste him.
