Libby relieved Aida and got back to her desk after a short update about the lack of activity from the offices. She smirked and checked her inventory for clean clothing for the ladies. The guys were on their own.

After she got settled and started to think about coffee, the elevator chimed, and a distinctive figure emerged.

Libby muttered, “Oh, for fucks’ sake.”

Elias grinned and walked up to her desk.

“Hello, Libby. We need to set a time and date to begin the projects.”

That made sense, so she nodded. “Is there a liaison on your team for me to contact?”

“Me. You have my card.”

She sighed. “Right.”

She reached into her dress and pulled his card out, typing his information into her phone, and he was staring at the card with fascination.

When the info was in, she moved the card from the left to the right, and then she smirked. “Do you want your card back?”

He swallowed. “Uh, yes, please. I can give you a replacement.”

“Sure.” She snorted. “You alphas and scent.” She handed him the original card, opened her calendar and saw him lift the card to his nose, and his eyes closed.

She wrinkled her nose and looked at him. “So, when does this project start? When do the meetings start?”

“Soon. Very soon. Is tomorrow soon enough to go and check the ten sites?”

“Uh, sure. I thought there were only five playgrounds to be created?”

“There are, but the environmental studies are underway right now, and if the location is suitable but has some toxicity in the soil, we would need to add an extraction and seal.”

“Right. No sleep for me.”

“What time did you want to do this?”

“Two-thirty?”

She grunted. “Right. This is going to take a few days.”

“And your clock doesn’t start until we are on site or in a conference.”

Libby flicked a glance at him. “Fine.”

“And I am not going to attempt a proper date until these projects are complete.”

She was surprised but smiled. “Good. That would be all kinds of distracting.”

Elias’s slow smile made her rethink her phrasing.

Ula’s door opened, and her three red-headed mates left her office. Libby triggered the air handlers in both offices and sent for the clothing from storage. If the ladies didn’t need it today, another visit by their mates might tip the scales.

Libby looked at Elias. “I have sent you a tentative schedule that should allow us to visit all the sites in three days.”

He nodded. “Good. I will give you a list of contractors, and you can choose two of them to meet us there.”

“Do they specialize in play structures?”

“No, but they will contract those who do.” He smiled. “Ms. Bright contacted me for a reason.”
