Merry stared at her and saw the liquid gold in her gaze. “Shit. I am going to have to wee on a stick.”

Ula blinked. “Huh. Do we have to tell them?”

Libby returned to her screen. “It is recommended at some point in the next forty weeks.”

The phone rang, and Libby answered it, deflecting the call to a lower level with practiced ease. “Oh, and Merry, there is a raven hopping from window to window up here looking for your office... or so I am guessing. So, watch the stick if you don’t want your guys stampeding up here and locking the door.”

Merry glared at Thomas, and he flew off.

Merry grinned, and Ula nodded. They went to their respective offices and headed for their bathrooms.

Merry watched the little stick for three minutes, and when the display of the plus sign showed up, she sat down.

Ula walked in a moment later, and her eyes were wide, the capped stick in her trembling hand.

Libby called out, “It’s called a silent heat, Ula. It happens when your body understands it has the opportunity.”

Merry blinked at the test and said, “Your extreme wisdom isn’t helping right now.”

“Have a hot beverage and a bottle of water, congratulate your friend and let Ms. Bright know that she is going to be an aunt.”

Merry laughed and reached for her phone. “Good idea. I think she should come to lunch as well.”

Libby sat at her tiny table and answered work calls for all three with the phone on vibrate. When the phone rang, she answered it calmly and dispatched the call to the appropriate number.

She ate her alfredo and smothered a grin as a wave of alphas came by the table with the three women and six men. It seemed that Giovanni was rarely seen out during daylight hours, and the same went for Walter.

Seeing the immediate future for the people she knew had become heavy with every new person she met, but moments like this made her brain happy.

She finished her plate and was drinking some coffee when someone bumped into her.

The coffee spilled, and she gasped as she tried to keep the splash over her plate.

“Oh, Miss. I am very sorry.”

The voice was so low that her bones shook, and she looked up to see the tallest, broadest alpha she had ever seen. And her senses weren’t registering him at all. She blinked. “It’s no problem. My plate caught most of it.”

She tried to keep her head craned back as her eye line was slightly below his crotch.

“At least let me buy your lunch.”

“Not necessary. My lunch is on the company I work for. You have helped me practice my coffee-related reflexes. Oh, you could buy me a replacement coffee.” She beamed.

He blinked. His eyes were a green so dark they were nearly black. “I believe I can manage that. I don’t suppose you are an omega?”

She stared. “Um, no. Sorry.” She actually was sorry. Sure, for the right alpha, her body would change to accommodate him, but right now, that wasn’t the case.

He sighed regretfully. “You do smell wonderful. Have a great day.”

She wiped her hands on her napkin, which had caught some drips, and she smiled at the staff as they came to clean her table and give her a new napkin.

A bowl of water was placed next to her, and the new cup of coffee was set in front of her. A business card was also set down. She washed her hands and frowned. Elias Mayhew, Mayhew Venture Capitol.

She picked the card up and slipped it into the neckline of her dress. She fixed her coffee the way she liked it and continued to monitor company lines with the phone in her palm while Elias was talking to the group. They obviously were in the same social circles.

Libby answered the calls until the group gave the indicators that they were leaving. She paid the bill on the company card before the men could get to their wallets and headed out of the shop to the valet parking stand.
