Kasim blinked. “You use it during your heat.”
“Yeah. I didn’t want to chance setting off Ula. She didn’t need more pain, so I would take a few days off to wait it out.” She smirked, “But she is soon going to be under your care, so I can freak out in my house. I will probably still use my boathouse though. I am used to it.”
She finished the salad and got up to clear her plate and fetch dessert. “Anyone up for coffee with dessert?”
Clark blinked. “There’s dessert?”
Kasim chuckled. “I will have coffee, please.”
Ula laughed. “Me, too.”
Clark nodded. “Me, too.”
Merry flicked the button on the coffee pot, and it started chugging away. She pulled the strawberry cheesecake from the fridge and walked it over to the table.
Ula asked, “Merry, when did you get home today?”
“I drove through the night, got here as you were leaving, and then made the cheesecake. I had a feeling that we would need it.”
Kasim asked, “What do you mean, you had a feeling?”
Ula laughed. “She always has those. She found me in the hospital, got me a lawyer, and helped me sue.”
Merry was shocked when the next thing she heard was, “She even knows who her mates are. The beasts are tattooed on her back.”
Merry looked at her friend who had a determined expression on her face.
The alphas looked at her with raised brows. Clark asked, “You have their beasts on your back?”
“Nothing weird. Just my shoulders.”
Kasim asked, “Can you show us?”
“No.”
Ula helped again. “It is a black swan, a raven, and a sabretooth tiger.”
Ula’s head snapped as a breadstick caught her between the eyes.
Merry snarled. “If you think you are going to get any cheesecake out of this, you are deluded.”
Ula let out a sign Merry had rarely heard. A begging whine emerged.
Merry snorted and pointed her fork at the alphas. “I blame you two. She used to do all her begging with words.”
They both laughed, and Ula put her face in her hands. Two could play.
After a surprisingly large amount of cheesecake was gone, coffee consumed, and the alphas looked satisfied and dozy, Merry smiled. “I am going to leave you here to chat.”
Kasim called out, “Miss Merry, would you come out with us to a club?”
She tensed her shoulders. “Why?”
“That is where we will find Walter, our third alpha. It might be easier for Ula if you were there.”
“When?”
“How soon can you be ready?”
