You and me both, Remi. You and me fucking both.

I stepped out onto the club floor after taking my break as Remi sidled up next to me with a tentative smile on her face. As far as I knew, I had no specific clients tonight, so I was due to mingle with the patrons of the club and perhaps take my turn on the pole.

“Did you want something?”

“I have a new client for you,” she said with fake enthusiasm.

New clients turned up all the time requesting my particular range of services, so this wasn’t unusual. However, Remi’s demeanour was. Her eyes darted about the room as if she had a secret.

“Okay. Do you have the details for me?”

She shook herself and handed the tablet in her hands over to me. I scanned the requirements, wanting to see what they’d requested.

“Um, why are you giving this to me when they haven’t actually picked the service they want? Didn’t you show them how it works?”

There was literally just the name, with nothing listed as their preferences. It was super fucking weird. Why would they request me and not say what they wanted?

“He, um, would prefer to tell you himself.”

“Are you telling me you’re sending me in to see a new client blind?”

She gave me a half-smile and a shrug.

“Kind of.”

Remi knew better than this. All the hostesses did. The clients were thoroughly vetted, so I shouldn’t be worried about it. I shouldn’t… but I was.

“You promise he doesn’t want anything weird or stuff I don’t do? The client is a he, right?”

She nodded profusely.

“I promise it’s totally legit. He doesn’t want anything weird, and yes, it’s a guy.”

I handed her back the tablet after memorising his name. Curiosity got the better of me. While I could refuse a client if I wished, especially a new one, I wasn’t in the habit of doing so. After all, this was my job. I got paid to give clients what they wanted.

“Okay. What room?”

“Four… your usual one. Figured that was best.”

“Thanks.”

I gave her a nod and walked away towards the doors leading to the private rooms. Glancing back before I went through, I noted Remi watching me with a worried look on her face. If she was fucking with me, I’d be pissed.

When I reached room four, I took a deep breath, put a smile on my face, and opened the door. I didn’t look around the room as I shut the door behind me.

“Hello, Mr—”

I stopped dead in my tracks as I turned and took in my new client. The last person I expected to see was sitting on the bed with a neutral expression on his face.

What the actual fuck is he doing here?

“Gil? I… oh god, I’m so sorry, I’m in the wrong room, aren’t I? Shit, I’m going to kill Remi.”

I put my hand over my mouth, wanting to stuff the words right back in.
