Penn walked right up to me, his grin remaining in place before he looked me up and down.

“Well, well, I had no idea all of you Villetti boys were so easy on the eyes.”

I stared at him without saying a word, wondering why he was in my personal space.

“Penn,” came my brother’s warning voice.

“Say, Gil, are you as ruthless as your brother over there?”

“I can be,” I said, not knowing what to make of Penn at all.

He bit his lip and rubbed his hand over his chest.

“Oh, I bet you are. I can see you have this whole broody, stoic thing going on and I’m here for it.” He waved at me. “I bet you have quite the fan club. Hell, I might even join it myself.”

I wanted to step away, but I didn’t want to seem rude. And I didn’t understand what he meant about me having a fan club either.

“Shy one, are you? That’s okay.” He leaned closer in a conspiratorial way. “I’m good at making people talk, amongst other things, if you catch my drift.”

He gave me a wink.

“Jesus Christ, Penn, stop flirting with my brother. He isn’t interested in what you have on offer, and he has a girlfriend,” Zayn barked.

I looked over Penn’s shoulder at my brother, who was glaring at his Fixer. Penn ran his teeth over his bottom lip.

“Shame. I would have rocked your world.”

Before I could respond, he stepped away from me and looked over Gael with a keen eye.

“This one shouldn’t be too much trouble. My team is on the way, so you don’t have to worry about it, Z. I’ll let you know when you can have your room back.”

Zayn shook his head.

“Good. I’ll leave you to it then. Gil, let’s go.”

I stepped away from his Fixer, who gave me another wink before I walked over to my brother. The two of us left, Zayn rubbing his face with one hand, his features full of frustration.

“He was flirting with me?” I asked as we made our way back to his office.

“I despair of you sometimes.”

“Why?”

He rolled his eyes.

“If you didn’t notice that was flirting when he was being so fucking shameless about it, I don’t know how you ever managed to work out Theia liked you.”

I raised an eyebrow.

“How did you know she likes me?”

He scoffed.

“I watched the security footage, Gil. I saw the way she looked at you all starry-eyed like you hung the fucking moon, and there’s you being completely oblivious to it as usual.”

I could feel my face growing hot.

“I’m not… okay, fine, I didn’t realise at first, but that doesn’t make me completely oblivious. I worked it out in the end, didn’t I?”
