“You’re the one about to get a lesson. One you’ll never forget.”
And Gil certainly showed me how he could “go all night.” I was going to be fucked in the morning in more ways than one, but I didn’t care. Not when he’d given me the only gift I’d ever wanted.
Him as mine.

My hand tightened around Theia’s as we stepped on board the boat this gala was being held on. Fuck knows why Pippa had decided to host it on the Thames. I was already annoyed I even had to attend in the first place. Now I’d be stuck with a bunch of rich pricks for the next few hours, unable to leave even if I wanted to. It was a good thing I’d insisted on Edric and Theia attending with me, not sure I would survive without them by my side.
Thankfully, Edric had listened to me about his attire. He was in a three-piece navy suit with brown brogues, his signature wide-framed glasses and a cravat. An actual cravat. I decided not to comment on it because at least he didn’t stand out like a sore fucking thumb in this crowd. And he wasn’t wearing the purple suit. I thanked my lucky fucking stars he had taken me seriously when I told him he couldn’t rock up in it.
Theia, on the other hand, I could barely keep my eyes off her. I’d had to smack Edric around the head when he wolf-whistled as he came to pick us up from the penthouse. The little shit thought my possessiveness over her was hilarious. Theia merely blushed and thanked him after he complimented her dress. In an effort to persuade her to come with me, I’d taken her out to buy it as, according to her, she didn’t have anything appropriate. It was a flowy navy dress that went down to below her knees. The top part was a bustier. The fabric across her breasts was opaque, but the rest was see-through. It hardly surprised me Theia wanted a dress which showed off her beautiful form. And it was exactly why I couldn’t stop staring at her.
She’d insisted we match each other, so she made me wear a navy suit that was similar to Edric’s. Now we were all matching, but considering it could have been so much worse, I decided to go with it.
“You could make it a little more obvious she’s yours,” Edric murmured as we made our way inside from the deck.
“If you kept your eyes in their sockets, I wouldn’t have to,” I shot back.
“I don’t know why you keep giving me shit when half the men on board are staring at her… and the women too.”
My eyes darted over the assembly of people. He wasn’t wrong. They were looking at us. When my gaze landed on Theia, I could tell she was enjoying the attention, so I let it be. They could look all they wanted. I would be the one peeling the dress off her body later, or maybe I’d fuck her while she was still in it against the glass window of my living room. It would be indulging in her exhibitionism kink, something I knew Theia would be on board with. The idea made me hide a smile. It would be the perfect way to end this evening from hell. We’d only just got on board, and I already wanted to leave.
“There’s so many people,” Theia whispered, leaning closer to me.
“Tell me about it.”
Edric spied the waiters with drinks and grabbed champagne for the three of us. Theia clutched her glass between her fingers and took a sip. I watched her throat work, mesmerised by her every movement.
“So, who do we schmooze first?” Edric asked, leaning up against the window in a nonchalant way.
“I’d rather not have to speak to anyone.”
“It’s a gala. You can’t hide in the corner and glare at people all night.”
“That’s why I brought you. Now I don’t have to deal with small talk.”
He snorted and rolled his eyes.
“Aww, Gil, don’t you want to charm them all with your witty banter?”
Bringing Edric anywhere was a double-edged sword. On the one hand, he could be a social butterfly. On the other, he never ceased to give me a hard time over my lack of social skills. I swear, winding me up was some kind of sport for him.
“I’m going to throw you overboard before the end of the night if you keep that up,” I hissed.
He grinned and waved his champagne flute at me.
“You certainly know the way to a man’s heart. How could anyone resist such a romantic gesture?”
Theia was trying not to smile at our interaction. My eyes moved away from my girl, spying Pippa approaching us. She was in a skin-tight white dress with blood-red lipstick and heels. Her pin-straight chin-length blonde bob made her look severe. Dino wasn’t with her, but I knew my cousin didn’t always attend his socialite wife’s events.
“Gil, I’m so glad you came,” she said as she arrived in front of us.
“Pippa.” I didn’t plaster on a fake smile. There would be no point. “Thank you for inviting me.”
She looked at Edric, who was eyeing her with interest.
