“Princess, you skipped lunch today, and you just said you haven’t eaten anything.” I placed my finger under her chin so that she would look at me. Her big gray eyes were sad, and I was angry at myself for being the one to give her that look.
“I’ll eat later, Lennox. Let’s just go somewhere and talk.” She sighed heavily before turning and heading to the employee suites. I followed behind her, but I caught Cullen McGregor’s smug face. He wore a satisfied grin like he’d accomplish something. I just stared at him with a dead-eye expression until he looked away. I still didn’t understand why he was here, but that was another thing I would have to put on the backburner.
Raven led me into the same private suite we were in just a few hours before. I closed the door behind me and this time she was the one pacing. I sat in the chair and watched her for a few moments. I knew that she needed time to figure out what she wanted to say.
“I know we started out unconventionally, but I thought we were…” Raven stopped and shook her head.
“You thought we were what?” I asked confused on where she was going. Raven shook her head again and sighed with tears brimming in her eyes.
“You are so possessive, and you treat me like a… well like a princess. I thought we were exclusive. I mean, why would you cheat on me.” Raven looked devastated, and I was definitely missing something.
“Raven, what in the fuck are you talking about?” I asked and then it dawned on me… fuckingFelicity.
CHAPTER 17
RAVEN
The look on Lennox’s face was so convincing that I almost faltered. I could nearly believe that he didn’t have any idea what I was talking about. When Sasha came in with a look of worry on her face, I thought it was for my dad. When she was convinced that we were just waiting the customary first six hours for him to be out of the woods and he would be fine, she broke down and told me what she saw.
Sasha was hesitant to tell me about Lennox and Felicity’s intimate encounter because I’d been telling her how well we’d been getting along lately. However, she’s my best friend, and she knew that I would want to know.
I was pissed because Lennox had just stormed out of the room and away from me when I needed him. If he and Felicity didn’t have something going on, why would he rush to her side so quickly after an argument?
I always thought of Lennox as loyal, so it was hard to believe that he would be unfaithful to me. But I had to remind myself that we were forced into this marriage, and he did want to get a divorce at first. I just thought we were through with all of that. I was disappointed in myself for once again falling for a man that was only worried about himself.
“I know damned well you’re not talking about that shit with Felicity?” Lennox questioned his face growing hard with a fire blazing in his blue eyes.
Who the hell was he to be mad? It was his ass cuddling up to that cuntwaffle in public. He must really be cheating on me with that bitch because she was the first one he thought about when I brought up cheating. I swear I will throat punch the fuck out of him if he acts like this shit is my fault.
“Then why the hell would you bring up that bitch’s name if it’s not about her?” Attitude laced my words, and my hands were balled into fists. I usually wasn’t a violent person, but sometimes you had to show people not to play with you. I was tired of being everybody’s punching bag, and my husband brought out the best and worst in me. He wasn’t the only jealous one in this relationship.
Instead of answering my question, this motherfucker smirked. I took a step toward him. “Who the hell are you smirking at? I will slap the shit out of you!” He was too relaxed and it was pissing me off.
“Don’t threaten me with a good time.” Lennox’s grin grew.
“Do you think I’m joking? This is all fun, huh? Let me ask you this, are you fucking that cuntwaffle, Felicity? Because I don’t give a damn about anybody ruining our lives, I will leave your ass so fast you’d need a time machine to the future to catch me.”
Lennox laughed. Outright belly laughed at me. Anger blinded me, and I lunged in his direction. He caught my fists before I could get in a good lick. Yeah, it might be immature, and people should keep their hands to themselves, but hormones can make a woman crazy. It may not be an excuse, but hey…
“Princess, calm the fuck down! What has gotten into you?” Lennox questioned, his eyes, going serious as he searched my face. The worry on his handsome face made me burst into tears. His mouth opened in shock before he pulled me into a warm hug. I felt like such a fool.
“Shhh, baby. Tell me what’s going on? You know I wouldn’t cheat on you. Is this about your father? He’s going to be fine, I promise you. I know this situation is stressful.” Lennox trying to comfort me made me cry harder. He was being nice, and it made me second guess myself.I hate this shit!
“Sasha saw you with Felicity. I’m not blind, that whore slept with my last boyfriend, and my father refused to fire her. He told me to choose a better boyfriend next time,” I sobbed into his chest. I didn’t want to be close to him, but his arms felt so good.
“Your father did what?” Lennox growled, and I could feel him taking deep breaths to calm himself down.
“Don’t feel sorry for me, my father was right. I needed to do better with my choices. He still should’ve fired that bitch, though. But if you slept with her…” Before I could finish, Lennox snatched my face from his chest and glared at me hard. His gleaming blue eyes were furious.
“I was telling her not to touch me. What Sasha saw was me twisting Felicity’s wrist away from my body. I don’t want her or any other woman. You are my wife, and I amyourhusband, period. There will be no one else for me… or you,” Lennox stated with conviction before kissing me breathless. I swear he knew just what to do to me, and instead of being mad, my body was boiling for an entirely different reason!
It may make me naïve, but I wanted to believe my husband. At twenty-six years old, I was just learning to trust myself as well as those around me. I just pray that I wasn’t making a mistake by trusting the man I love.
“I’m sorry I tried to hit you.” I sniffled in embarrassment.
“Yeah, Princess. That shit is not cool at all. What the hell has gotten into you?” Lennox frowned down at me, but he never let me go out of his embrace.
“Uhhh.” I bit my lip hesitantly. I didn’t want to break the news like this, I wanted to share our new beginnings in a happy, loving environment. I didn’t want to do this in a secret hospital ward after a fight.
