Page 9 of Deserving Maddie

"No need to apologize. Come and have a seat, and don't worry about the time. I was just getting home from work anyway."

"I know," she said, taking a seat on the opposite end of the couch from him. "I first drove by about thirty minutes ago but noticed your vehicle wasn't home. I considered just heading back to my house, but my best friend refused to let me. She pretty much demanded I sit in my car and wait for you to come home. Your neighbors probably think I'm a stalker."

So that's why he felt someone watching him. It had been Maddie. He wanted to tell her that no one would think that, but then he thought of Trista. If his teammate's wife had been watching, then he was sure to hear about it tomorrow.

"I wouldn't worry about it. The only nosy one is across the street and she's married to a friend of mine."

"I'm not interrupting anything, am I?" Maddie's face instantly turned a bright shade of red. "Oh my God, I didn't even think. It's late. You probably have company coming over."

She jumped up and had one foot ready to dash away before Ray fully caught on to what she was saying and could put his hand out to stop her.

"Maddie, wait." His fingers tugged gently on her wrist. "You're fine. There's no one coming over. I just got home from work and planned to just relax. Alone."

"And I ruined that."

He tugged her hand so she would sit back down on the couch. "I didn't mean it like that. I just meant that there wasn't anyone coming over, so you're fine. But I'm curious, what brought you over?"

Her cheeks were the cutest shade of pink again. "It's silly and impulsive. Actually, it's my best friend's fault, but still."

"I kinda like silly and impulsive, so lay it on me."

Her lip twitched ever so slightly, just like he hoped. The night they met at the bar, he had tried to see how many times he could make her laugh because he simply liked listening to it. He wanted a repeat tonight.

"You're going to think I'm crazy."

"Crazy is the last word I would use to describe you, and believe me, I've seen my fair share. You should see the woman across the street. Now she's kinda crazy."

"I have a proposition for you."

Now he was intrigued. "I'm all ears."

"You saw yesterday that my situation is a bit more … complicated than I led on that first night we shared."

"If by complicated, you mean that you have children, then yes, I did notice that." He checked one more time to make sure there was no ring. Not that he expected to see one since she came to his house. "Took me by surprise for a minute, but I understand why you didn't say anything."

"I'm not in the right headspace for a relationship, but as my friend pointed out, I could use a way tounwind."

His dick was hard just thinking about all the ways he could help her unwind.

"Like multiple orgasms?"

Ray was hoping for another laugh, but he realized his mistake when heat crept up her neck and she was pushing off the couch instead.

"This was crazy. I never should've let Kat talk me into it."

"Maddie, wait."

Damn, she moved fast. She was almost to the door before he caught up to her. Grabbing her hand, he spun her so that her back was against the wall and he was crowding her space. With both arms on either side of her head, he caged her in and made sure he had her attention before he spoke.

"There's nothing crazy about you coming to me for some release. Believe me, I'm completely on board with the idea." Just to show her how much he liked her idea, he pushed his hips forward and rubbed his painfully hard erection against her belly. He knew he had her hooked when she let a small gasp escape. "You want to be fuck buddies? I'm game. You want to be friends with benefits? Sign me up. You want me to be the dirty little secret that gets you off in the dead of night? Count me in. I'm whatever you need. You just have to say the word."

With each new idea, he rotated his hips, eliciting more moans. He would bet good money that if he slipped his fingers inside her cutoff shorts, he would find her soaking wet.

"Word," she panted.

He chuckled against her neck, biting back a groan as goose bumps pebbled her flesh. "Cheeky little minx. Tell me what you want."

"I can't."
