He smirked and shoved his feet into his shoes. “Maybe, but I doubt you’ve come that hard in a long time.”
“Smug bastard.”
“Am I wrong?”
I pinned him with a glare.
He laughed. “Don’t worry, G. I haven’t come like that in a long time, either.”
I didn’t know what to do with the little flutter of happiness at his words. Why did I care if he’d enjoyed it?
“Good to know.” I pushed my hair back from my forehead.
We stood there for a beat.
“I have to get to work.”
“You’re working tonight?” I asked before I could stop myself.
“Yeah. Three night shifts.” He patted his pockets and looked around.
I pointed to where his wallet lay on the floor, assuming that’s what he was looking for.
He scooped it up and tucked it away. “Gotta go.”
I nodded, my mouth dry, throat tight. “Have a good shift,” I croaked.
He smiled tightly. “Take care of yourself.”
The smile I gave him was just as forced. “You too.”
I stared after him as he strode through the living room and out the door.
The twinge in my ass and the stretch in my inner thighs wouldn’t be fading anytime soon, but I couldn’t find it in myself to regret it.
It was done, and it needed to happen. Now I could go back to my life and forget all about Caleb and how good he’d made me feel.

CALEB
“You, spill. Now.”
I kept my coffee cup to my lips and pretended to drink.
Sloane crossed her arms and studied me. “Fine, don’t spill. I’ll guess.”
Lorelei perked up from where she was flipping through a pile of paperwork on the desk.
Sloane smiled triumphantly. “You got laid.”
I lowered my cup and tucked it under the lip of the desk so it wasn’t in the way. “No comment.”
“Hey, Lor.” Sloane grinned mischievously.
“Yeah?” Lorelei grinned just as wickedly.
“Do you need Caleb and I to go check something in the supply closet?”
