“It will!” she says in a gleeful tone. “Oh my god, you’re the best, Barron. Seriously, I can’t wait.”
I grin again because it feels good to give the curvy girl what she wants. Even better, I’ve just scheduled another date with Danielle, and nowI’mthe one who can’t wait.

BARRON
“You don’t think this is a little ridiculous?” I whisper-yell as I follow Danielle toward the back of the restaurant, ducking and dodging to hide behind the staff and other diners as we pass by.
“Yes, but we can’t risk having Seymour spot us!” she hisses back. “If he sees me, there’s no telling how he’ll react. Besides, what’s the point of spying on someone if you don’t get to wear the proper outfits for it?”
After all, Danielle insisted that we both dress in all black attire in order to ‘blend in.’ Trellis is a nice restaurant, and as a result, I’d argue that we stick out even more now. Everyone else is dolled-up in expensive-looking dresses and suits, and the two of us are prancing around in black cargo pants and t-shirts. Maybe Danielle took me a bit too seriously when I suggested that we come and ‘spy’ on the girls and Seymour while they have their date.
But hey, I’m not complaining. As ridiculous as it may be, Danielle seems to be having a lot of fun, which is all that matters. She hasn’t stopped smiling and giggling since we snuck in from the side door. Clearly, she’s having the time of her life while we’re on our little ‘mission,’ and honestly, her bubbly demeanor and childlike excitement are starting to rub off on me. It’s nice not to have to take things so seriously all the time, and I don’t feel as if I have to behave like “the consummate professional” when I’m with her. It’s a relief to let down my guard for a change.
So I go along with Danielle’s plan, allowing her to pull me down into a seat next to her at a table in the darkest area of the restaurant.
“Perfect!” she whispers. “There he is, see? We have a clear view of their table.”
It’s true. Seymour Hinds is about thirty feet away, running a comb through his hair as he stares at his reflection in the napkin holder on the table. I can’t help but roll my eyes as I watch the thin man chuckle and admire his reflection.
“He’s like the stereotypical nerd in an eighties movie who thinks he’s some kind of ladies man despite never having hugged a woman who wasn’t his mother before,” I murmur.
Danielle let out a loud burst of laughter that sounds like music to my ears before quickly slapping her hands over her mouth and ducking her head. When she’s sure that Seymour isn’t going to turn around and spot us, she swats at my shoulder and shakes her head at me.
“Don’t make me laugh like that!”
“Why not?” I grin. “Your laugh is beautiful, just like you. Besides, did Seymour say anything when you told him about Star and Lacy?”
She shakes her head.
“No, if anything, he got really excited when I said there would be two women taking my place. And when I mentioned that they look like Barbie dolls …”
“Oh shit,” I groan. “He practically came, right?”
Danielle nods with a smile.
“Yeah. I was embarrassed for him. But at least we get a night of entertainment from it!”
Danielle’s gorgeous, and in the dim lighting, I have the sudden urge to lean forward and pull her in for a kiss. I can see the way her cheeks are colored a fetching pink, and I smile as she looks at me with sparkling eyes. My own eyes trail down to her plump lips, but before I lean forward to claim my kiss, her eyes dart behind me and she gasps.
“Ooh, that’s them! They’re here!”
I let out a quiet grunt as I turn toward the entrance of the restaurant, and sure enough, Star and Lacy just made their grand entrance. I chuckle as I take in the girls, both dressed up in slutty outfits that draw half the restaurant’s attention immediately. Lacy is wearing a peach-colored bodycon mini-dress that rides up with every step. She’s got matching stilettos and a smile the size of Texas. Star is similarly dressed in a coffee-colored bodysuit a few sizes too small, also complete with high heels and a tiny purse.
“Oh, shit,” Seymour moans audibly as the girls approach him.
“They really dressed to impress!” Danielle giggles. “Seymour’s going to lose his mind.”
“I think he’s already lost it,” I murmur as I watch the man nearly topple out of his seat as he rushes to stand up and greet the girls. Star and Lacy giggle and smile as they hug him, rubbing their breasts up against his narrow chest while kissing his cheeks and neck. “They better be careful. At this rate, he might faint before they even get to their appetizers.”
“You’re horrible,” Danielle whispers, and I smile as I turn to look at her again.
“Maybe,” I nod before throwing an arm around her. “But why don’t we order something ourselves? Even spies on duty need to eat to stay energized.”
“It sounds like you just want another date with me,” she teases, sticking her tongue out at me before picking up a menu. “But you’re right. It doesn’t look like anyone reserved this table, and besides, I’ve been craving pasta.”
Once again, I end up ordering half the menu. Trellis offers eight different kinds of pasta and I want Danielle to be able to have a taste of them all. Plus, I’m in the mood for seafood and steak, so I order some surf and turf, as well as a side of mashed potatoes, garlic bread, and some roasted veggies to top it all off.
