I grab the phone out of her hands, deleting “be polite, douchebag” before she can send it.

Except another message instantly pops up.

Crap, he saw her typing.

The phone is suddenly gone from my hand again. I pale as my eyes snap to a grinning Callie, who is now in possession of it.

“Callie—”

“I’m not going to be a bitch about it. But seriously, this dude needs to calm down with the possessive macho shit. What are you, his slave?”

I blush fiercely.

I groan when I see her typing and then sending something.

“No stress,” Dahlia giggles. “She just told him ‘no’, and then ‘lol’.”

I cringe.

Yeah, to a normal person, that’s a simple response. To Gavan, it’s an act of rebellion that needs to be crushed.
