I need a fucking shower and some sleep.
Tomorrow’s gonna be a busy night.

“Isyourloverboyhere yet?” Ruby teases.
I roll my eyes as I slide two shot glasses toward Hunter, one of our regulars.
We’ve been a little more paranoid since Rene nearly killed Kirby. Ruby and I shut down for a couple of nights so that she and the other staff could recover. We almost lost her, and I don’t want that to happen again.
“Oh, who’s her lover boy?” He asks with a smirk. “I thought your pussy closed up shop.”
“Just for you, babe,” I purr.
He chuckles and pulls more money out of his wallet.
“Come on, tell me. I’ll make it worth your while.”
Hunter reminds me of a Ken doll and a motorcycle club reject smashed into one. Blue-green eyes with a sharp jaw and hair that’s teased to high heaven. He’s got a mesh shirt on, and a bullet belt to bring attention to the fact that he wears pants that are so tight, he might as well just walk around naked for all they leave to the imagination.
I yank the bills from his hand and shove them into my bra before he can take them back.
“Nobody is my lover boy, Hunter. Just like nobody invited you to this conversation.” I lean over the counter and lick my lips. His eyes glaze over with lust. “Tell me something,Hunter. Is that even your real name? Seems pretty on the nose for a vamp.”
“I’ll tell you if you tell me, are those your real tits?” He fires back. “Never seen ‘em up close.”
He reaches out, but I’m faster, grabbing the shot of bourbon he ordered and pouring it over his head. Ruby claps and drums on the table, laughing as liquor drips down his face.
I can see his fists clenching as he growls.
“Down boy,” I purr. “One wrong move and you’re out. Permanently.”
I grin as Ruby tosses me a damp rag and I wipe up the mess that I’ve made.
“You know, these pants were 800 bucks.”
“You got ripped off. They look like shit.”
“You’re such a bitch,” he chuckles. “And yeah, Hunter’s my real name.”
“Might as well be named Dracula.”
Hunter snorts, shaking his head, and just like that it’s as if nothing happened. He takes another shot and glances around, spotting a woman who’s been sitting alone at the end of the bar all night.
“I’ll see you gorgeous gals later. I’ve gotta dish out the charm to someone worthy of my attention.”
He heads toward the woman at the end of the bar, who already looks less than impressed to see him.
Ruby sighs.
“She’s gonna need a puke bucket to deal with him.”
“Or a body bag,” I reply, taking the empty shot glasses and tossing them in the dirty dish bin beneath the bar.
“So long as she kills him outside, I don’t give a shit.”
