“Get a room, guys,” Waverley jokes, pulling us out of our intense gaze.

“You don’t have to tell me twice,” Graham picks me up and carries me to the door and I squeak out a laugh.

“Hey, I still need her,” Ivy hollers.

Graham places me down, “Damn, so close.” He gives me a little kiss on my nose.

“Go get some sleep, babe, I’ll be over soon.”

“You’d better.” He gives me a quick kiss, then waves bye to Ivy and my sisters.

“Bye, Graham,” they sing.

Walking back behind the counter, I have a smile plastered to my face and my headache is forgotten.

“My boyfriend is just so dreamy. I love him so much,” Waverley mocks.

I stick out my tongue at her, “Leave me be, I’m happy.”

“Yes, nauseatingly so,” Waverley imitates throwing up.

I roll my eyes at her dramatics.

“All right, we’d better go.” Wyla hops off the counter. “Last night was so fun, love you guys.”

I hug them both, “Love you, thank you for cheering me up last night.”

“Of course, bye Ivy,” Wyla waves.

“All right, let’s get this day moving.” Ivy and I high five and get to work.

Abigal comes in right before the lunch rush starts. We get into our perfect rhythm, picking up where the other needs it. Before I know it, 3 hits, so I turn the front over to Abigal and head back to my place. I will myself to go home first and pack instead of climbing into bed with Graham.

Once upstairs I stare at my duffle bag. Packing is the worst. How am I supposed to know what I am going to want to wear all weekend? I let out a huff then throw in a dress for tonight, jeans for Saturday and Sunday and a couple of tops so I have some options. I grab my makeup bag and my pre-packed travel toiletries bag.

I change into some ripped mom jeans and the Corona beer shirt I wore the first day we met. I shoot Graham a message letting him know that I am ready when he is. My phone starts to buzz in my hand, but it’s not Graham.

“Hey, Dad, what’s up?” I answer.

“Hey, moon baby.” I smile at Dad’s endearment. “I needed to talk to you about something, you got a minute?”

“Uh, yeah. Is everything okay?” My mind always jumps to the worst.

“Yeah, well it will be, but they let me know that they are going to subpoena you to court with Flynn. We charged him with aggravated burglary for breaking in and aggravated assault since he gave you a concussion. He is trying to say that you let him in and that everything was consensual until you broke his nose.”

“What? Dad, he pushed me up against the wall…” Panic is radiating through me.

“Win, honey, it will be okay. You will just have to go and corroborate your story with what you told Graham when it happened. He and Owen will be subpoenaed too. Has there been anything else that has happened with him that would help support your side?”

“Yeah, actually the night we broke up Flynn and I got into an argument and Owen and Graham broke it up before anything bad happened. I don’t know if they will have a record of it because they didn’t arrest him. Also, Wednesday night, Owen and Graham got called because Flynn had gotten drunk and wouldn’t leave Bluebird’s. They didn’t arrest him that night either, but there should at least be a record that they were called. Ivy was there and said Flynn kept talking about me.” I start twirling my hair nervously.

“Okay that’s good, honey. I’ll talk to Graham and Owen, and we will get it taken care of. Don’t stress about it, okay?” I can hear the concern in my dad’s voice. I know he is worried how this will affect me, especially with it being one year since the night.

There is a knock at my door, and then Graham walks in. I wave and mouth hi at him.

“Okay, Dad, I promise I won’t. I got to go though.” Graham puts his hands on my hips pulling me into him.

“I take it Graham just got there, so now I’m chopped liver, huh?” Dad grumbles.
