Page 43 of Hey, Stepbro

I turn around and see him standing there with a huge grin on his face. He's wearing a Batman costume.

"You look adorable," I say.

He rolls his eyes. "It's not adorable, it's hawt."

"Did you get that at the store?"

"Yep. While you were checking out the jack-o’-lanterns."

"You're one sexy superhero." God, he's so ripped and sexy. It takes everything in me not to run my finger down his muscular chest.

Brock crushes me to the wall. His lips lock on mine, his hot breath sending shivers down my spine.

"Mine," he growls against my lips.

"And you're mine."

We stand there for what feels like an eternity. It's like we can't get close enough.

Finally, we break away, but not before Brock plants one last kiss on my forehead.

"Let's go show the world who's boss," he says, taking my hand in his.

I fight like hell not to bust out laughing. "Tonight?"

"Why not?"

"Are you out of your fucking mind? It's not even Halloween."

"We're preparing."

I snort. "This is the geekiest thing ever."

"Who gives a fuck? Honestly, I'm sick of doing what everyone expects me to do. This is innocent fun, and fuck knows we don't get enough of it."

I nod. "I guess you're right. I am a little bored."

"And besides," Brock says, "no one wants two grown ass college students to walk around town on Halloween competing with actual trick or treaters. This way, we get to dress up and keep out of the kids' way."

Brock makes me feel invincible. Like together, we can take on anything.

"Vámanos," he says.

We head out into the night, ready to take on the world. Or defeat bad guys if we stumble across them.

We get some odd looks, but when we head onto campus, the only things we receive are fist bumps.

"Brock," one dude shouts, looking us up and down. "I hope you don't wear that on the field."

"Eat shit," Brock chuckles, slamming the guy's back.

I nudge his ribcage. "I feel like you should’ve taken my Superman costume and I should’ve bought a Robin one."

"Way overdone. Superman and Batman are ten times cooler."

Moonlight fans out across campus as we stop under an oak tree. Brock leans in close, cupping my face in his hands. His eyes are dark and intense, sparking a shiver that runs through me.

"You look amazing," he whispers.
