The motion feels so perfect and right. They hold each other briefly grinning into their kiss.
“Morning,” Ty mutters against his lips.
“Morning,” Ri grins and kisses him again.
Rian is in heaven. He’s fuzzy all over, completely weightless. Every fiber of his being consists of pure joy.
The love of his life smiles back at him.
“You were sleeping so soundly, I didn’t want to disturb your rest. Is it okay I made Bran breakfast? It’s just some finely blended oats and vanilla-flavored milk.”
Rian bites his lower lip. How the fuck is he supposed to hold back? How the hell could he be nonchalant and not demand this man become the father of his child and all the other babies they most definitely are having?
“Thank you for spoiling us. This whole morning…it’s perfect. Thank you.”
Ty beams at him and they share another sweet kiss, as Ty slowly maneuvers them to the kitchen table and sits Rian down, pushing him playfully down when he tries to resist and latch on to him.
“Relax, baby. Let me take care of you.” Rian tries to protest but Ty counters him with “you have no idea how long I’ve waited for a moment like this. I’ve been dreaming of a morning like this for years Ri. It brings me joy to be the one making you smile, to do things for you, with you.”
Well damn.
How soon is too soon to say I love you?
Not that the sentiment isn’t written in the most obvious manner all over Rian’s face.
Correction.
What Rian is actually wondering is, how soon is too soon to say, you’re my life. You’re everything I’ve ever dreamed of. I don’t simply love you.I love you more.My feelings for you grow exponentially with every minute we spend together. I am entirely and irrevocably dedicated to you and to the future we could build together.
“Okay,” he mutters instead and Ty rewards him with another sweet kiss that gets the familiar heat in Rian’s belly rising.
Ty pours him a cup of coffee and they get on with their breakfast. They spend the morning sitting at the kitchen table, talking about what’s safe to do – the beach, possibly going to the small market near the resort. How long could they stay at the resort? How much cash do they have left? What should they do about their real and fake identification documents? Should they hide them in the villa, or look for deposit boxes in town? What other precautions should they take to maintain their fake identities and remain hidden?
Ty had bought a few maps of the area, and they spend an hour marking potential routes in case they need to leave in the middle of the night. Ty is in full-on tactical mode, pointing out roads and discussing possible scenarios – where they could go in case they need to move on. What they could do for money, what documents to use and how to stay off the radar.
“This weirdly reminds me of playing Hero Quest,” Rian chuckles.
Ty’s grinning, “How do you do this?”
“What?”
“It’s like…you find something humorous, something weirdly positive to focus on. I’m still…On some days I need to summon all my will to remain calm and clear-headed. I’ve always admired that about you – this positive, hopeful spark.”
The entire time he’s talking, he’s also cleaning up Bran’s face – not a small accomplishment, as Rian’s little munchkin often finds it impossible to sit still.
“I guess I…I lost my confidence that I could work my way around difficult situations. I was feeling pretty helpless for a long time. Until Bran. It is simply impossible to feel anything but hope, knowing that my son needs me.”
Ty is listening to him looking thoughtful while cleaning up Bran’s highchair tray and bringing him some ginger biscuits.
When Ri gives the small cookies a questioning look, Ty blushes and mumbles, “I read they were good for teething, and I bought a bunch yesterday. I hope that’s okay.”
“You’re…I…”I love you.“You’re amazing. Those are perfect. Bran loves them.”
Not your regular, next morning sit-down, with the man of your dreams, after making love for the first time…but this just feels right.
It’s us. This is perfect.
Rian couldn’t imagine wanting to be anywhere else with anyone else. Even talking about running from the authorities and hiding from his insane husband is somewhat less stressful with Ty. Everything is possible when he has his man by his side. He feels calm and confident.
