"I am here to ask for your forgiveness," Mrs. Robinson repeats as she throws the divorce papers at Troy.
“Did you get her to sign the divorce papers?” Troy asks as he scans the paper he is holding. “You got her to sign the papers!”
Mrs. Robinson scoffs, bringing out shredded pieces of the prenup. "I got Nancy to give up the prenup; these are the shredded pieces of the original copy. You both won this time, and I am here to give you my blessing. You have my full support to marry Camille."
"Can't this wait till daybreak?" Troy says. "I am grateful for your support, but why do you have to say it here and now?"
"Because I am going on a vacation to the Maldives," she says. "My flight leaves in a few hours; I just thought I should come here to tell you the good news - your good news."
Mrs. Robinson walks up to me and pulls me into a hug. This may be the first time, and she whispers into my ear. "I am sorry, Camile," she says. "I thought I could break you…and I could break Troy, too, but I was wrong. I am so sorry about it all."
Mrs. Robinson pulls away from the hug. "I know it's going to be hard to forgive me, but I want you to take your time to do so." She glances at Troy, who is staring at us, and adds, "Take care of my son. I trust you will do that for me."
“I will,” I say as she takes her bag from the couch. Troy runs to catch up with her outside the house. They both speak for a few minutes before she hops into her car.
Troy comes back into the house when her car leaves the driveway. “I told you the plan would work on my mother,” Troy says. “I am happy we are finally here together without her interference in our relationship.”
Troy kisses me, "Thank you for trusting me, Camile. Thank you."
I sigh. It is a relief to know that Nancy is out of our lives, and Mrs. Robinson is no longer a problem to us. Finally, I feel genuine happiness rush through my veins, making me laugh as I hug Troy.
I can't contain my happiness. I am being happy for the first time in a very long time.

We left for work at dawn, but Troy left the hospital a little too early today. He says he has an emergency. I can't wrap my head around what it could be, but with Amelia's absence at the hospital, I guessed it has something to do with Henry.
I leave the hospital when my shift ends and notice that the lights in the house are off. I shrug, thinking it is probably an electric malfunction.
I open the door with the door's smart card, and the lights suddenly come on. "Surprise!" The cheers from the familiar faces startle me; Troy comes to hold me as he walks me through the house.
I look around the room, and there is everyone I ever cared about: Mother, Amelia and Henry, Joseph from the hospital, and Mrs. Robinson. "I thought your mother went to the Maldives?"
I am still trying to understand what Troy is celebrating to bring everyone to the house. This arrangement explains why Troy left the hospital earlier than he usually did.
Troy shakes his head, "Not yet. I want her to be here for the celebration. I want our families to be here for this."
I chuckle, still confused about what we are celebrating. "What celebration?"
“This,” Troy says as he goes down on one knee, holding a ring box up to me. “Camile Howard, do me the pleasure of being my wife.”
I answer hastily, stretching my left hand to him. "I will marry you," Troy.
The crowd behind us cheers as Troy slides the diamond ring into my finger. I kiss him as he stands on his feet, and when we pull back from each other, our families come to hijack us.

Epilogue #1
Camille
As a kid, I had always dreamt of walking down the aisle with my father, a man I hadn't known; and while it is a relief to know that Dad is alive, I wish he was here to achieve my little girl's dream.
On my wedding morning, I was sure I was going to walk down the aisle with my mother just as the event planner had claimed, but Father came into my dressing room a few minutes later.
"Dad!" I cried. "You made it!"
"I wouldn't miss it for anything in the world," he says. "Troy sent his jet to pick us up last night; he wanted to surprise you."
