Wait. What did that mean? Was she attracted to him or not?
He must have looked confused because she leaned in again and brushed a quick kiss across his lips. “You taste delicious, cowboy.”
He smiled. “I taste like beer.”
She gave him another one of those sensual smiles, and his pulse increased.
“Like I said. Delicious.”
He thought he knew where this was going, and his heart raced. They ordered another round, and Vic crossed her leg again. This time, it seemed as though she was intentionally rubbing her leg against his.
He clasped her hand and looked into her eyes.
She raised a brow, and took another sip of her beer.
Damn, she was hot. He couldn’t take his eyes off her. When she took another swallow of beer and ran her tongue over her bottom lip, he thought he’d lose it.
A few moments later, she downed the last of her beer in three swallows. Looking him in the eyes, she said quietly, “Spend the night with me.”
He nodded. “Tell me where.”
“Comfort Suites on West Dickinson, Room 310.”
“Give me forty-five minutes.” He rose from the table, leaving his beer. After dropping some bills on the table for the tab, he followed her out the door.
At her car, she pulled him close. “Kiss me—and make it last. Forty-five minutes is a long time.”
He laughed and swept her mouth with a soft kiss. Then he kissed her again, tracing her lip with his tongue, then delving into her mouth, stroking her, their tongues tangling in an erotic dance that filled him with sensual fire.
When he drew back, she smiled. “Wow, you’d better hurry. I want me some more of that.”
He cracked up. “I’m going. I’m going.” After waiting until she was in the SUV, he headed for his truck. All tiredness had fled. His heart sped wildly as he climbed into the driver’s seat. This was going to be one hell of a night.
