My body sags with relief.

“You’re going to deny me this?” Marcel’s cock is in his hand, his fingers stroking up and down.

“We don’t need to see any more.”

Marcel laughs, tucking himself back into his jeans. “You shy, Ryker, or are you just threatened by my huge cock?”

Ryker. He has a name.

Stormy eyes narrow and he steps forward, muttering something to Marcel that wipes the grin off his face.

Star has drawn her knees back together, resuming her position of submission. Marcel walks over and strokes her face. She lifts her eyes adoringly at the touch, almost nuzzling into it.

“We shall continue our fun later, my little Star.” His words are soft and threaded with affection. She smiles again and then drops her gaze when his hand leaves her.

“Your turn,” he says to me.

CHAPTER SEVENTEEN

MIA

The drum of my heartbeat increases until I can hear nothing else but the pulse of my blood rushing through my veins. I close my eyes again, breathing deeply. I can do this. I can resist.

“Don’t say a word.” It’s my captor. Ryker. His voice is a command but also a plea.

I swallow the saliva that’s pooled at the bottom of my mouth and inwardly start counting. What? I’m not sure. I just chant numbers internally as if having something else to concentrate on will take me away from this place.

“Don’t say a word.” There is controlled anger in his tone this time. Rage bubbles just under the surface.

I know what I’m supposed to do. Kneel. Submit. Obey.

But I do nothing.

Ryker nods to Marcel and Marcel raises his hand, palm open, ready to slap Star. And that’s when it hits why she has been brought here. For whatever reason, whether it be Ryker’s choice or my requestor’s, I am not to be damaged. But the same rules do not apply to Star.

Her head snaps back with the impact. The redness on her cheek deepens and blood appears on her lip. It would be so easy to kneel. All I need to do is change my position, adjust the way I’m sitting. But I don’t. I can’t.

Marcel lifts his hand again, pausing for a moment to give me the chance to obey. I don’t. More blood appears on Star’s face. This time from her nose.

“Don’t say a word!” The rage is obvious now as Ryker looms over me. His body trembles as though he’s struggling to control himself. And in a strange moment, I laugh at the absurdity of it. A man yelling at me to not say a word while I sit without saying a word.

Something breaks within Marcel and he whacks Star over and over until she falls to the ground. Then he kicks her, his boot impacting with force into her stomach as she curls in on herself. I can’t allow it any longer. The need to save her from the pain is too great.

“Stop!” I yell, crawling over to her and attempting to shield her from his rage. “Please, just stop!”

Ryker tugs me by the hair, pulling me away from the girl. “You know how to make it stop.”

Marcel keeps kicking her. Again and again. She’s whimpering now, crying as she clutches her stomach, folding in on herself in such a way that his next blow hits her head.

It’s too much.

I can’t do it.

I scramble to my knees.

“It’s my pleasure to obey your command,” I yell. Yet the blows keep coming. “It’s my pleasure to obey your command!” I yell louder.

“Stop!” Ryker orders.
