Even Dominic is gone.

I’m startled when Jericho appears in the reflection behind me. I didn’t hear him enter. I didn’t hear his steps as he crossed the wooden floor. He doesn’t say a word as he comes to stand behind me, running his hands down my arms and then pushing them inwards. My feet automatically form the familiar position, heels together, toes turned outward.

“First.” His voice is low and guttural, his breath hot against my ear.

“Second,” I say as we change.

His eyes lock on mine in the reflection of the mirror as he curls one of my arms inward. “Third.”

We slide into fourth and finally fifth and then he spins me, turning me so I face him. I bring down my arms looping them around his neck. His eyes are dark like the night sky. His hands grip around my waist possessively.

He cocks a brow. “I want you, Miss Berkley. Right now.”

The low gravel to his voice works the same magic as it always does and a tremor of anticipation ripples through me. He dips his head, lowering his lips to mine and kisses me gently before dragging my bottom lip between his teeth and biting.

Moving away, he stalks toward the door, only turning to hold his hand out when he realizes I’m not following. My heart skips a little. A warm flush of arousal washes over me when I think of the dark and dangerous things he could do.

Because there are two types of monsters in this world. There is the kind who revel in their cruelty, not caring about the pain they inflict on the world. They are like my father. And then there are the ones who only rise in defense of others, using their darkness to exact revenge for those who need it.

And Jericho Priest is my monster.
