Quinn pulled out the note Jericho had let him have—it was a copy—and slapped it on Sebastian’s chest. “I think that you left a few important details out. He’s here to protect you, and you’ll let him.” His voice brooked no arguments.
Peyton plucked it away before Sebastian could take hold of it. His face darkened as he scanned the contents. “Where did you find this?”
“On the body of a man killed in my alter ego’s apartment,” Jericho said. “Just as the building was set on fire with the purpose of burning me inside it.”
“With youin it?” Will asked in surprise, his eyes widening.
“You live an exciting life,” Peyton said. He was staring at the list as though he could eviscerate the one responsible with the power of his mind. If only it were that easy. His head shot up and swivelled to Quinn, eyes widening. “Were you in the building?”
“Not then,” Quinn said. He shook his head. “I wasn’t involved in that. That was where I was called out yesterday morning.”
“We met at Howell’s humble abode.” Jericho grinned. “We bonded over his weapon.”
“What does that mean?” Sebastian asked, eyes narrowing.
“It means I borrowed his service weapon to shoot someone,” Jericho said bluntly. He enjoyed putting people off-kilter, especially when they disliked it so much.
“Borrowed?” Quinn’s voice was flat. “That’s not how I remember it.”
“No?” Jericho asked innocently.
Quinn sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose. “This is irrelevant. The point is that you’re a target on alist, Sebastian. We’re not ignoring this anymore. We need to work out what we’re going to do.”
“How did he get a hold of your gun?” Sebastian asked.
A muscle in Quinn’s jaw jumped.
Jericho crossed his arms over his chest with a smirk. This should be interesting. “Yeah, Quinn, how did I get a hold of your gun?”
“It doesn’t matter.”
“What he means is,” Jericho said, wanting this all out in the open, “is that he responded to my mating call.” He gave Sebastian a sly look. “You’d be familiar with it.”
Sebastian raised an eyebrow. The same heat was still there. “Is that what you call it?”
“Dropping trou and turning around is frowned upon.”
Will’s brown gaze swept over them. “I don’t understand.”
“It’s quite simple,” Jericho said. “You’re all unbelievably handsome, and I like sex. I told Quinn he could fuck me in the backseat of my car, and you’re all welcome to have a turn.” Being used in a line by these men sounded like a fantasy. Even better if he were allowed to touch them in return.
They were all committed to each other, so Jericho didn’t expect anyone to take him up on his offer, let alone all four of them. A guy could dream.
“How nice for us,” Sebastian said. His voice was bored, but his eyes said he wasthinkingabout it. Jericho’s dick twitched in his pants as pleasure curled in his groin, tightening his muscles.
“We’re getting off topic,” Quinn pointed out.
Will pulled a jug of milk from the fridge, sniffed it, and then put it on the counter. “Can we organise some dinner? Because I’m starving.”
“I don’t know what’s in there to offer you,” Sebastian admitted. “We could order in? That’s what I was planning to do.”
“Don’t you live here?” Peyton asked with amusement.
“Sometimes.” Sebastian shrugged with a self-deprecating chuckle. “I have a cleaner that comes in twice a week. She also stocks my cupboard and waters the plants.”
“Cleaners do that?” Will asked. “Where do I get one?”
“She’s more like a housekeeper, I suppose,” Sebastian said. “Would you like her number?”
