And to prove it, I slipped my hand under her shirt and skimmed my hand over her damaged skin. Her breath hitched in her throat as I slowly slid my hand over her back. The long, raised scars hurt my heart, but did nothing to kill my erection. I shoved my cock against her to prove it. She gasped just as I crushed my lips to hers.

I devoured her, pulling her in closer as she gave in and slid her fingers through my hair. Even with my head pounding and my body aching, I wanted to fuck her. I was just about to pick her up and lay her out on the desk when Lock cleared his throat.

“Should I tell everyone to come back later for this emergency meeting?”

I kissed her one last time and pulled back to glare at the man who interrupted me from finally taking what I wanted from my wife. We’d kissed before, but it was always with lies between us. For the first time, she was one hundred percent mine, and that’s the way it was going to stay.

Jade wiggled off my lap before I could stop her, and moved to sit on the couch as the rest of them filed into the room. Chase looked pale, but was moving a lot easier than he had a few days ago. Since they were all here and waiting, I adjusted my hard on and got down to business.

“Marcus. That’s the only name I have, but he used to work for Jade’s father two years ago. I want to know everything about him. Jade said her father took care of him. There should be death records at the very least.”

“Who is this guy?” Patrick asked, watching me curiously.

My eyes flicked to Jade. She shifted uncomfortably as I opened my mouth. “He’s someone that hurt Jade.”

All eyes shifted to her, watching her carefully for a moment. “Done,” Chase answered. “What else?”

“There’s an FBI agent by the name of Henry. I’m not sure if that’s actually his name, but he’s working for Ambrose. We need to find out who he is. He could be the key to taking down Ambrose’s organization.”

“You got a last name?” Edu asked.

“No.”

“Race?”

“Caucasian,” Jade answered Lock.

“Height? Weight?” Scottie asked.

“Tall like you, but skinnier.”

Scottie nodded. “Not the worst description.”

“Not the best,” Brock muttered.

“This is from two years ago. We don’t even know if this guy is still alive, but if he is, let’s find him and turn him. Chase—”

He jerked his head at me. “Yeah?”

“We’re going to meet Ambrose.”

“What?” Jade asked, her eyes going wide with panic. “You can’t do that!”

“This is part of the deal. I’ve been absent for too long. If I don’t show my face soon, he’s going to get spooked.”

“I’ll get the car,” Chase said, slowly standing.

“Sit your ass down,” Lock ordered, placing a hand on his shoulder and shoving him back down. “Now, let’s just fucking think about this for a second. Are you really going to go over there with this fucker, who can’t even stand without looking like an elderly person?”

Chance glared at him, but even he couldn’t deny we were an unlikely pair at the moment.

“I’m going too,” Jade said, standing tall. “I need to see my mother.”

I wasn’t sure that was the best idea, but there was no way I could deny her this simple request.

“Alright, I’ll let you know when we’re going.”

“Do you have a plan?” Patrick asked. “Or are we just going in and hoping to have a nice chat?”
